ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਸਨੁੱਖਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The Fascinating and Beauteous Beloved is the Giver of support to all.
ਗੁਰ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ; ਦੇਹੁ ਦਿਖਾਰੀਆ ॥੩॥
gur niv niv laagau paae; dehu dikhaareea |3|
ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੀਵਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਿਖਾਲ ਦਿਓ।
I bow low and fall at the Feet of the Guru; if only I could see the Lord! ||3||
ਮੈ ਕੀਏ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਨੇਕ; ਇਕਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਸਜਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I have made many friends, but I am a sacrifice to the One alone.
ਸਭ ਗੁਣ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਨਾਹਿ; ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰ ਭੰਡਾਰੀਆ ॥੪॥

ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ।
No one has all virtues; the Lord alone is filled to overflowing with them. ||4||
ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ; ਸੂਖਿ ਸਵਾਰੀਆ ॥

ਚੌਹੀ ਪਾਸੀ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
His Name is chanted in the four directions; those who chant it are embellished with peace.
ਮੈ ਆਹੀ ਓੜਿ ਤੁਹਾਰਿ; ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੫॥

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹੈ।
I seek Your Protection; Nanak is a sacrifice to You. ||5||
ਗੁਰਿ. ਕਾਢਿਓ ਭੁਜਾ ਪਸਾਰਿ; ਮੋਹ ਕੂਪਾਰੀਆ ॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਅਗੇ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Guru reached out to me, and gave me His Arm; He lifted me up, out of the pit of emotional attachment.
ਮੈ ਜੀਤਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ; ਬਹੁਰਿ. ਨ ਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੬॥
mai jeetio janam apaar; bahur. na haareea |6|
ਮੈਂ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਰਾਂਗਾ।
I have won the incomparable life, and I shall not lose it again. ||6||
ਮੈ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ; ਅਕਥੁ ਕਥਾਰੀਆ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ।
I have obtained the treasure of all; His Speech is unspoken and subtle.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤ; ਬਾਹ ਲੁਡਾਰੀਆ ॥੭॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੀਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਲਾਰਾਂਗਾ।
In the Court of the Lord, I am honored and glorified; I swing my arms in joy. ||7||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਲਧਾ ਰਤਨੁ; ਅਮੋਲੁ ਅਪਾਰੀਆ ॥
jan naanak. ladhaa ratan; amol apaareea |
ਗੁਮਾਸ਼ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਣਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
Servant Nanak has received the invaluable and incomparable jewel.
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ. ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰੀਐ; ਕਹਉ ਪੁਕਾਰੀਆ ॥੮॥੧੨॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Serving the Guru, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean; I proclaim this loudly to all. ||8||12||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ; ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗੋ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗ।
Dye yourself in the color of the Lord's Love.
ਜਪਿ ਜਿਹਵਾ; ਹਰਿ ਏਕ ਮੰਗੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jap jihavaa; har ek mango |1| rahaau |
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ, ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Chant the Name of the One Lord with your tongue, and ask for Him alone. ||1||Pause||
ਤਜਿ ਹਉਮੈ; ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਭਜੋ ॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਹੋਏ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ।
Renounce your ego, and dwell upon the spiritual wisdom of the Guru.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ; ਧੁਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਲਿਖਿਓ ॥੧॥

ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਢਲੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny, join the Sangat, the Holy Congregation. ||1||
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ; ਸੋ ਸੰਗਿ. ਨ ਗਇਓ ॥
jo deesai; so sang. na geo |
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
Whatever you see, shall not go with you.
ਸਾਕਤੁ ਮੂੜੁ ਲਗੇ; ਪਚਿ ਮੁਇਓ ॥੨॥

ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਾਇਆਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਗਲ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The foolish, faithless cynics are attached - they waste away and die. ||2||
ਮੋਹਨ ਨਾਮੁ; ਸਦਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ॥
mohan naam; sadaa rav rahio |
ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
The Name of the Fascinating Lord is all-pervading forever.
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ; ਕਿਨੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਹਿਓ ॥੩॥

ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਇਕ ਅੱਧ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Among millions, how rare is that Gurmukh who attains the Name. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ; ਕਰਿ ਨਮੋ ਨਮੋ ॥
har santan; kar namo namo |
ਨਮਸਕਾਰ, ਨਮਸਕਾਰਕਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ।
Greet the Lord's Saints humbly, with deep respect.
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ; ਅਤੁਲੁ ਸੁਖੋ ॥੪॥
nau nidh paaveh; atul sukho |4|
ਇੰਜ ਤੂੰ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨਤ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
You shall obtain the nine treasures, and receive infinite peace. ||4||
ਨੈਨ ਅਲੋਵਉ; ਸਾਧ ਜਨੋ ॥

ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕ।
With your eyes, behold the holy people;
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗਾਵਹੁ; ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧੋ ॥੫॥
hiradai gaavahu; naam nidho |5|
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।
in your heart, sing the treasure of the Naam. ||5||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜੋ ॥
kaam krodh lobh mohu tajo |
ਲਿੰਗ ਚੇਸ਼ਟਾ, ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਲਾਲਚ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ।
Abandon sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਹੁ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਓ ॥੬॥
janam maran duhu te rahio |6|
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਹਾ ਤੇ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾ।
Thus you shall be rid of both birth and death. ||6||
ਦੂਖੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ; ਘਰ ਤੇ ਮਿਟਿਓ ॥
dookh andheraa; ghar te mittio |
ਦਰਦ ਤੇ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ,
Pain and darkness shall depart from your home,
ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦਿ੍ਰੜਾਇਓ; ਦੀਪ ਬਲਿਓ ॥੭॥

ਜਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਇਸਬਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਜੋਤ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ।
when the Guru implants spiritual wisdom within you, and lights that lamp. ||7||
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ; ਸੋ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ॥
jin seviaa; so paar pario |
ਜੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who serves the Lord crosses over to the other side.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਿਓ ॥੮॥੧॥੧੩॥
jan naanak; guramukh jagat tario |8|1|13|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
O servant Nanak, the Gurmukh saves the world. ||8||1||13||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਡੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Dwelling upon the Lord, Har, Har, and the Guru, the Guru, my doubts have been dispelled.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ; ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
My mind has obtained all comforts. ||1||Pause||
ਬਲਤੋ ਜਲਤੋ ਤਉਕਿਆ; ਗੁਰ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
balato jalato taukiaa; gur chandan seetalaaeo |1|
ਮੈਂ ਸੁਲਘਦੇ ਤੇ ਸੜਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਛਿੜਕਿਆਂ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਚੰਨਣ ਵਾਞ ਸੀਤਲ ਹਨ।
I was burning, on fire, and the Guru poured water on me; He is cooling and soothing, like the sandalwood tree. ||1||
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ; ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੀਪਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
agiaan andheraa mitt geaa; gur giaan deepaaeo |2|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਤ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੇਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The darkness of ignorance has been dispelled; the Guru has lit the lamp of spiritual wisdom. ||2||
ਪਾਵਕੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗਹਰੋ; ਚਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਨਾਵ. ਤਰਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
paavak saagar gaharo; char santan naav. taraaeo |3|
ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The ocean of fire is so deep; the Saints have crossed over, in the boat of the Lord's Name. ||3||
ਨਾ ਹਮ ਕਰਮ. ਨ ਧਰਮ ਸੁਚ; ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਆਪਾਇਓ ॥੪॥
naa ham karam. na dharam such; prabh geh bhujaa aapaaeo |4|
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੇ ਅਮਲ, ਈਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਬਾਹੋਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
I have no good karma; I have no Dharmic faith or purity. But God has taken me by the arm, and made me His own. ||4||
ਭਉ ਖੰਡਨੁ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੋ; ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇਓ ॥੫॥
bhau khanddan dukh bhanjano; bhagat vachhal har naaeo |5|
ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ, ਪੀੜ ਮੇਟਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ।
The Destroyer of fear, the Dispeller of pain, the Lover of His Saints - these are the Names of the Lord. ||5||
ਅਨਾਥਹ ਨਾਥ ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ; ਸੰਮਿ੍ਰਥ ਸੰਤ ਓਟਾਇਓ ॥੬॥
anaathah naath kripaal deen; samrith sant ottaaeo |6|
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ, ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ, ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੁਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
He is the Master of the masterless, Merciful to the meek, All-powerful, the Support of His Saints. ||6||
ਨਿਰਗੁਨੀਆਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ; ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਓ ॥੭॥
niraguneeaare kee benatee; dehu daras har raaeo |7|
ਮੈਂ ਨੇਕੀ-ਵਿਹੁਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇ।
I am worthless - I offer this prayer, O my Lord King: "Please, grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan." ||7||

ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਆ ਡਿਗਾ ਹੈ।
