ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰਨ; ਮਨਹਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਈਐ ॥

ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਮਾਲਕ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ-ਪਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਚਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The Perfect Lord is the Lover of His devotees; He fulfills the desires of the mind.
ਤਮ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਉਧਾਰੈ; ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈਐ ॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾ।
He lifts us up out of the deep, dark pit; enshrine His Name within your mind.
ਸੁਰ ਸਿਧ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ. ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ; ਗੁਣ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਗਾਇਆ ॥

ਦੇਵਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ, ਸਵਰਗੀ ਗਵੱਈਏ, ਚੁੱਪ-ਕੀਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
The gods, the Siddhas, the angels, the heavenly singers, the silent sages and the devotees sing Your countless Glorious Praises.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ. ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ; ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨਾ. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ; ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ ਉਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
O my mind, be conscious of the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, who wields all power.
ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਘਟ ਘਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥
karunaa mai samarath suaamee; ghatt ghatt praan adhaaree |
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਪੁੰਜ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
He is All-powerful, the Embodiment of compassion. He is the Master of each and every heart;
ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ; ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥
praan man tan jeea daataa; beant agam apaaro |
ਅਨੰਤ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਦਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਚਿੱਤ, ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
He is the Support of the breath of life. He is the Giver of the breath of life, of mind, body and soul. He is Infinite, Inaccessible and Unfathomable.
ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਮੋਹਨੁ; ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੋ ॥

ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀ-ਰਖਿਅਕ, ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਚੁਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮੁਹ ਗਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The All-powerful Lord is our Sanctuary; He is the Enticer of the mind, who banishes all sorrows.
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ; ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਹਿਮਤਾਂ, ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
All illnesses, sufferings and pains are dispelled, by chanting the Name of the Lord.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ. ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ; ਸਮਰਥ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੩॥

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਮਨਾ. ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ; ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥

ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਅਹਿੱਲ, ਅਮਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਵਾਦ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਹੈ।
O my mind, sing the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable, Eternal, Merciful Master, the Highest of all.
ਬਿਸੰਭਰੁ ਦੇਵਨ ਕਉ ਏਕੈ; ਸਰਬ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
bisanbhar devan kau ekai; sarab karai pratipaalaa |
ਕੇਵਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The One Lord is the Sustainer of the Universe, the Great Giver; He is the Cherisher of all.
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਮਹਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਾਨਾ; ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਸੈ ॥
pratipaal mahaa deaal daanaa; deaa dhaare sabh kisai |
ਪਰਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Cherisher Lord is so very merciful and wise; He is compassionate to all.
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨਾਸੈ; ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕੈ. ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਸੈ ॥
kaal kanttak lobh mohu naasai; jeea jaa kai. prabh basai |
ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਮੌਤ, ਲਾਲਚ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੌੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
The pains of death, greed and emotional attachment simply vanish, when God comes to dwell in the soul.
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਦੇਵਾ. ਸਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ; ਭਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥

ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਫਲਦਾਇਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਸ਼ੱਕਤ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
When the Lord is thoroughly pleased, then one's service becomes perfectly fruitful.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ. ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ; ਜਪਤ ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲਾ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਕੰਨ ਕਰੋ ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਈਓ! ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕਰੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰੀਏ।
Listen, O my companions: let's join together and make the effort, to surrender to our Husband Lord.
ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ. ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਠਗਉਰੀ; ਮੋਹਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੰਤੈ ॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਮੇਟਣ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ-ਪਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਰ ਪਿਲਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਰੇਫਤਾ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ।
Renouncing our pride, let's charm Him with the potion of devotional worship, and the mantra of the Holy Saints.
ਸਖੀ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ. ਫਿਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ, ਨ ਜਾਈ; ਇਹ ਰੀਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਭਗਵੰਤੈ ॥
sakhee vas aaeaa. fir chhodd, na jaaee; ih reet bhalee bhagavantai |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਈਓ! ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਰਿਵਾਜ ਹੈ।
O my companions, when He comes under our power, He shall never leave us again. This is the good nature of the Lord God.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ, ਭੈ ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ; ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰੈ. ਤਿਸੁ ਜੰਤੈ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਠਾਕਰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ, ਮੌਤ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, God dispels the fear of old age, death and hell; He purifies His beings. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ. ਇਹ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ; ਏਹੁ ਮਤਾਂਤੁ ਪਕਾਈਐ ॥

ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਾਥਣੋਂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਨ ਦਿਓ। ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਇੰਜ ਪੱਕਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕਰੀਏ।
Listen, O my companions, to my sincere prayer: let's make this firm resolve.
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ. ਉਪਾਧਿ ਰਹਤ ਹੋਇ; ਗੀਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਹਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
sehaj subhaae. upaadh rehat hoe; geet govindeh gaaeeai |
ਰੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਬੱਰਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਜੱਸ ਦੇ ਗਾਉਣ ਗਾਈਏ।
In the peaceful poise of intuitive bliss, violence will be gone, as we sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ. ਭ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਸਹਿ; ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥

ਸਾਡੇ ਬਖੇੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਝਗੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਸੰਦੇਹ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਚਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪਾ ਲਵਾਂਗੇ।
Our pains and troubles shall be eradicated, and our doubts shall be dispelled; we will receive the fruits of our minds' desires.

O Nanak, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Supreme Lord God, the Perfect, Transcendent Lord. ||2||
ਸਖੀ ਇਛ ਕਰੀ, ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਮਨਾਈ; ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਚਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਖੈਰ-ਖੈਰੀਅਤ ਮੰਗਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰੇ।
O my companions, I yearn for Him continually; I invoke His Blessings, and pray that God may fulfill my hopes.
ਚਰਨ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਦਰਸ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ; ਪੇਖਉ ਥਾਨ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
charan piaasee daras bairaagan; pekhau thaan sabaae |
ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਤਿਹਾਈ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਚਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
I thirst for His Feet, and I long for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; I look for Him everywhere.
ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਉ. ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸੰਗੁ; ਸੰਮਿ੍ਰਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
khoj lhau. har sant janaa sang; samrith purakh milaae |
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਖੁਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਨੇਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਲ ਲਵਾਂਗੀ। ਸਾਧੂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
I search for traces of the Lord in the Society of the Saints; they will unite me with the All-powerful Primal Lord God.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਰਿਜਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ; ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਾਏ ॥੩॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਮਾਤਾ!
O Nanak, those humble, noble beings who meet the Lord, the Giver of peace, are very blessed, O my mother. ||3||
ਸਖੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਵਸਾ, ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ; ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ. ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਿਲਿਆ ॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਗਿੱਝ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
O my companions, now I dwell with my Beloved Husband; my mind and body are attuned to the Lord.
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਦ ਭਲੀ; ਮੈ ਆਪਨੜਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥
sun sakhee meree need bhalee; mai aapanarraa pir miliaa |
ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਦਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
Listen, O my companions: now I sleep well, since I found my Husband Lord.
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਓ. ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਇਆ; ਕਉਲੁ ਖਿਲਿਆ ॥
bhram khoeo. saant sehaj suaamee, paragaas bheaa; kaul khiliaa |
ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਦਿਲ ਖਿੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
My doubts have been dispelled, and I have found intuitive peace and tranquility through my Lord and Master. I have been enlightened, and my heart-lotus has blossomed forth.
ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਨ ਟਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥

ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਆਹੁਤਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਖਤਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
I have obtained God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, as my Husband; O Nanak, my marriage shall last forever. ||4||4||2||5||11||
