ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਰਾਫੁ, ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ; ਸੁਆਵਗੀਰ ਸਭਿ ਉਘੜਿ ਆਏ ॥
jaa satigur saraaf, nadar kar dekhai; suaavageer sabh ugharr aae |
ਜਦ ਪਾਰਖੂ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਹੁ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਤਲਬ-ਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਨੰਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
When the True Guru, the Tester, observes with His Glance, the selfish ones are all exposed.
ਓਇ. ਜੇਹਾ ਚਿਤਵਹਿ ਨਿਤ, ਤੇਹਾ ਪਾਇਨਿ; ਓਇ. ਤੇਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਦਯਿ ਵਜਾਏ ॥
oe. jehaa chitaveh nit, tehaa paaein; oe. teho jehe day vajaae |
ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਉਹ ਆਰਾਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਦੀਵ ਉਹ ਓਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਉਘਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
As one thinks, so does he receive, and so does the Lord make him known.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਦੁਹੀ ਸਿਰੀ ਖਸਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤੈ; ਨਿਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਚਲਤ ਸਬਾਏ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਦੋਨਾਂ (ਨੇਕ ਤੇ ਬਦ) ਸਿਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਉਤਕ ਰਚਦਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the Lord and Master is pervading at both ends; He continually acts, and beholds His own play. ||1||

ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Fourth Mehl:
ਇਕੁ ਮਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ; ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗੈ. ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਇ ॥
eik man ik varatadaa; jit lagai. so thaae paae |
ਹਰ ਇਕਸ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The mortal is of one mind - whatever he dedicates it to, in that he is successful.
ਕੋਈ. ਗਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਘਨੇਰੀਆ; ਜਿ ਘਰਿ ਵਥੁ ਹੋਵੈ, ਸਾਈ ਖਾਇ ॥
koee. galaa kare ghanereea; ji ghar vath hovai, saaee khaae |
ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ-ਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਓਹੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਝੁੱਗੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
Some talk a lot, but they eat only that which is in their own homes.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ. ਸੋਝੀ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ; ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ. ਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
bin satigur. sojhee naa pavai; ahankaar. na vichahu jaae |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸਮਝ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the True Guru, understanding is not obtained, and egotism does not depart from within.
ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆ ਨੋ. ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਹੈ; ਹਥੁ ਤਡਹਿ, ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਗਾਇ ॥
ahankaareea no. dukh bhukh hai; hath taddeh, ghar ghar mangaae |
ਪੀੜ ਅਤੇ ਭੁਖ ਮਗਰੂਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਮੜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਟੱਡਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Suffering and hunger cling to the egotistical people; they hold out their hands and beg from door to door.
ਕੂੜੁ ਠਗੀ. ਗੁਝੀ ਨਾ ਰਹੈ; ਮੁਲੰਮਾ ਪਾਜੁ. ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
koorr tthagee. gujhee naa rahai; mulamaa paaj. leh jaae |
ਝੂਠ ਅਤੇ ਛਲ ਲੁਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ। ਝਾਲ ਤੇ ਗਿਲਟ-ਸਾਜ਼ੀ ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Their falsehood and fraud cannot remain concealed; their false appearances fall off in the end.
ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ; ਤਿਸੁ. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਇ ॥
jis hovai poorab likhiaa; tis. satigur milai prabh aae |
ਸੁਆਮੀ-ਸਰੂਪ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਧੁਰ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ।
One who has such pre-ordained destiny comes to meet God through the True Guru.
ਜਿਉ ਲੋਹਾ ਪਾਰਸਿ ਭੇਟੀਐ; ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ. ਸੁਵਰਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥
jiau lohaa paaras bhetteeai; mil sangat. suvaran hoe jaae |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ, ਲੋਹਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as iron is transmuted into gold by the touch of the Philosopher's Stone, so are people transformed by joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂ ਧਣੀ; ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
jan naanak ke prabh too dhanee; jiau bhaavai tivai chalaae |2|
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ। ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਰ।
O God, You are the Master of servant Nanak; as it pleases You, You lead him. ||2||

Pauree:
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸੇਵਿਆ; ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
jin har hiradai seviaa; tin har aap milaae |
ਜੋ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who serves the Lord with all his heart - the Lord Himself unites him with Himself.
ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਸਾਝਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀ; ਸਭਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥
gun kee saajh tin siau karee; sabh avagan sabad jalaae |
ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
He enters into a partnership with virtue and merit, and burns off all his demerits with the fire of the Shabad.
ਅਉਗਣ ਵਿਕਣਿ ਪਲਰੀ; ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ. ਸੁ ਸਚੇ ਪਾਏ ॥
aaugan vikan palaree; jis dehi. su sache paae |
ਘਾਸ ਫੂਸ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਸਸਤੇ ਖਰੀਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Demerits are purchased cheap, like straw; he alone gathers merit, who is so blessed by the True Lord.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ; ਜਿਨਿ ਅਉਗਣ ਮੇਟਿ, ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਟੀਆਏ ॥

ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੇਸਕੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has erased my demerits, and revealed my virtuous merits.
ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਡੇ ਕੀ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਲਾਏ ॥੭॥
vaddee vaddiaaee vadde kee; guramukh aalaae |7|
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਤਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh chants the glorious greatness of the great Lord God. ||7||

Salok, Fourth Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ; ਜੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
satigur vich vaddee vaddiaaee; jo anadin har har naam dhiaavai |
ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ, ਜੋ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Great is the greatness within the True Guru, who meditates night and day on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਤ. ਸੁਚ ਸੰਜਮੁ; ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
har har naam ramat. such sanjam; har naame hee tripataavai |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਰੋਕ ਥਾਮ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The repetition of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is his purity and self-restraint; with the Name of the Lord, He is satisfied.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਾਣੁ. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ; ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਰਖ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
har naam taan. har naam deebaan; har naamo rakh karaavai |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ। ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord's Name is His power, and the Lord's Name is His Royal Court; the Lord's Name protects Him.
ਜੋ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ. ਪੂਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ; ਸੋ ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
jo chit laae. pooje gur moorat; so man ichhe fal paavai |
ਜੋ ਦਿਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who centers his consciousness and worships the Guru, obtains the fruits of his mind's desires.
ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ; ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਤਾ. ਮਾਰ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ॥
jo nindaa kare satigur poore kee; tis karataa. maar divaavai |
ਜੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦਖੋਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
But one who slanders the Perfect True Guru, shall be killed and destroyed by the Creator.
ਫੇਰਿ ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਓਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ; ਓਹੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਆਪੇ ਖਾਵੈ ॥
fer oeh velaa os hath na aavai; ohu aapanaa beejiaa aape khaavai |
ਉਹ ਅਉਸਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ। ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਬੀਜਿਆਂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
This opportunity shall not come into his hands again; he must eat what he himself has planted.
ਨਰਕਿ ਘੋਰਿ. ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਖੜਿਆ; ਜਿਉ. ਤਸਕਰੁ ਪਾਇ ਗਲਾਵੈ ॥
narak ghor. muhi kaalai kharriaa; jiau. tasakar paae galaavai |
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਰੱਸਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਿਆਹ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਦੌਜ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ, ਚੋਰ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
He shall be taken to the most horrible hell, with his face blackened like a thief, and a noose around his neck.
ਫਿਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਵੈ. ਤਾ ਉਬਰੈ; ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
fir satigur kee saranee pavai. taa ubarai; jaa har har naam dhiaavai |
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
But if he should again take to the Sanctuary of the True Guru, and meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, then he shall be saved.
ਹਰਿ ਬਾਤਾ. ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਨਾਨਕੁ; ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਏਵੈ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
har baataa. aakh sunaae naanak; har karate evai bhaavai |1|
ਨਾਨਕ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nanak speaks and proclaims the Lord's Story; as it pleases the Creator, so does he speak. ||1||

ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ. ਨ ਮੰਨੈ; ਓਹੁ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ. ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਮੁਠਾ, ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
poore gur kaa hukam. na manai; ohu manamukh. agiaan mutthaa, bikh maaeaa |
ਜੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਸਮਝੀ ਤੇ ਜਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਠੱਗ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
One who does not obey the Hukam, the Command of the Perfect Guru - that self-willed manmukh is plundered by his ignorance and poisoned by Maya.
ਓਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੂੜੁ. ਕੂੜੋ ਕਰਿ ਬੁਝੈ; ਅਣਹੋਦੇ ਝਗੜੇ. ਦਯਿ ਓਸ ਦੈ ਗਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
os andar koorr. koorro kar bujhai; anahode jhagarre. day os dai gal paaeaa |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਝੂਠ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਫਜ਼ੂਲ ਟੰਟੇ ਪੁਆੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੱਲ ਮੜ੍ਹ ਛੱਡੇ ਹਨ।
Within him is falsehood, and he sees everyone else as false; the Lord has tied these useless conflicts around his neck.
ਓਹੁ ਗਲ ਫਰੋਸੀ. ਕਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੀ; ਓਸ ਦਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ. ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
ohu gal farosee. kare bahuteree; os daa boliaa. kisai na bhaaeaa |
ਉਹ ਬੜੀ ਬਕਬਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।
He babbles on and on, but the words he speaks please no one.
ਓਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੰਢੈ, ਜਿਉ ਰੰਨ ਦੁੋਹਾਗਣਿ; ਓਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜੋੜੇ, ਓਸੁ ਭੀ ਲਛਣੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
ohu ghar ghar handtai, jiau ran duohaagan; os naal muhu jorre, os bhee lachhan laaeaa |
ਉਹ ਛੁਟੜ ਤੀਵੀ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਟੱਕਰਾ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ! ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਬਦੀ ਦਾ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He wanders from house to house like an abandoned woman; whoever associates with him is stained by the mark of evil as well.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ. ਸੁ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਵਰਤੈ; ਓਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਸੁ ਛਡਿ. ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਬਹਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥

ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ-ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਠਕ ਬੈਠਕ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who become Gurmukh avoid him; they forsake his company and sit near the Guru.
