ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਗੁਰਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
taa sohaagan jaaneeai; gurasabad beechaare |3|
ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ-ਪਤਨੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਦੀ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਹੈ।
Then she is known as the happy soul-bride, if she contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3||
ਕਿਰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਂਧੀ. ਸਭ ਫਿਰੈ; ਦੇਖਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥

ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਰੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿਉ।
Bound by the actions she has committed, she wanders around - see this and understand.
ਏਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਆ ਆਖੀਐ; ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
es no kiaa aakheeai; kiaa kare vichaaree |4|
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਹੀਏ? ਇਹ ਗਰੀਬਣੀ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
What can we say to her? What can the poor soul-bride do? ||4||
ਭਈ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ; ਚਿਤ ਬੰਧਿ. ਨ ਧੀਰਾ ॥
bhee niraasee utth chalee; chit bandh. na dheeraa |
ਬੇ-ਉਮੀਦ ਹੋ ਉਹ ਖੜੀ ਹੋ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
Disappointed and hopeless, she gets up and departs. There is no support or encouragement in her consciousness.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੁ; ਭਜੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੫॥੬॥੫੦॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹੁ ਅਤੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈ, ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ!
So remain attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet, and hurry to His Sanctuary, Kabeer! ||5||6||50||

ਜੋਗੀ ਕਹਹਿ. ਜੋਗੁ ਭਲ ਮੀਠਾ; ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
jogee kaheh. jog bhal meetthaa; avar na doojaa bhaaee |
ਯੋਗੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਯੋਗ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੇ ਭਰਾ!
The Yogi says that Yoga is good and sweet, and nothing else is, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਰੁੰਡਿਤ ਮੁੰਡਿਤ ਏਕੈ ਸਬਦੀ; ਏਇ ਕਹਹਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥

ਮੋਨੇ, ਅੰਗ ਭੰਗ ਤੇ ਇਕੋ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਨਤਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
Those who shave their heads, and those who amputate their limbs, and those who utter only a single word, all say that they have attained the spiritual perfection of the Siddhas. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ; ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਨੇ ਅੰਧਾ ॥
har bin; bharam bhulaane andhaa |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਵਹਿਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Without the Lord, the blind ones are deluded by doubt.
ਜਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਉ, ਆਪੁ ਛੁਟਕਾਵਨਿ; ਤੇ. ਬਾਧੇ ਬਹੁ ਫੰਧਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa peh jaau, aap chhuttakaavan; te. baadhe bahu fandhaa |1| rahaau |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੰਜੀਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਕੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾੳ।
And those, to whom I go to find release - they themselves are bound by all sorts of chains. ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੀ. ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਨੀ; ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਸਰੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥
jeh te upajee. tahee samaanee; ih bidh bisaree tab hee |
ਜਦ ਬੰਦਾ ਇਸ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੋ ਇਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
The soul is re-absorbed into that from which it originated, when one leaves this path of errors.
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਗੁਣੀ ਸੂਰ ਹਮ ਦਾਤੇ; ਏਹਿ ਕਹਹਿ ਬਡ ਹਮ ਹੀ ॥੨॥
panddit gunee soor ham daate; ehi kaheh badd ham hee |2|
ਵਿਦਵਾਨ, ਨੇਕ, ਬਹਾਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨੀ, ਇਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕੇਵਲ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਂ।
The scholarly Pandits, the virtuous, the brave and the generous, all assert that they alone are great. ||2||
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ. ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ; ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ. ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
jiseh bujhaae. soee boojhai; bin boojhe. kiau raheeai |
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
He alone understands, whom the Lord inspires to understand. Without understanding, what can anyone do?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ. ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚੂਕੈ; ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੩॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀਰਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meeting the True Guru, the darkness is dispelled, and in this way, the jewel is obtained. ||3||
ਤਜਿ ਬਾਵੇ ਦਾਹਨੇ ਬਿਕਾਰਾ; ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਦਿ੍ਰੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
taj baave daahane bikaaraa; har pad drirr kar raheeai |
ਆਪਣੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਹੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਘੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਫੜੀ ਰੱਖ।
Give up the evil actions of your left and right hands, and grasp hold of the Feet of the Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ. ਗੂੰਗੈ ਗੁੜੁ ਖਾਇਆ; ਪੂਛੇ ਤੇ. ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ॥੪॥੭॥੫੧॥

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੂੰਗੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਗੁੜ ਖਾਧਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
Says Kabeer, the mute has tasted the molasses, but what can he say about it if he is asked? ||4||7||51||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜਹ ਕਛੁ ਅਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ; ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jeh kachh ahaa tahaa kichh naahee; panch tat teh naahee |
ਜਿਥੇ ਕੁਛ ਸੀ, ਉਥੇ ਹੁਣ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪੰਜ ਅੰਸ਼ ਭੀ ਉਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
Where something existed, now there is nothing. The five elements are no longer there.
ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਬੰਦੇ; ਏ ਅਵਗਨ, ਕਤ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥

ਖੱਬੀ ਸੁਰ, ਸੱਜੀ ਸੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਦੀ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਨਾਲੀ, ਇਹ ਹੁਣ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ?
The Ida, the Pingala and the Sushmanaa - O human being, how can the breaths through these be counted now? ||1||
ਤਾਗਾ ਤੂਟਾ. ਗਗਨੁ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਇਆ; ਤੇਰਾ ਬੋਲਤੁ ਕਹਾ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
taagaa toottaa. gagan binas geaa; teraa bolat kahaa samaaee |
ਧਾਗਾ ਟੁਟ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦਮਾਗ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਬਚਨ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The string has been broken, and the Sky of the Tenth Gate has been destroyed. Where has your speech gone?
ਏਹ ਸੰਸਾ. ਮੋ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ; ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਹੈ ਸਮਝਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਇਹ ਫਿਕਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚਿਮੜਿਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
This cynicism afflicts me, night and day; who can explain this to me and help me understand? ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਬਰਭੰਡੁ. ਪਿੰਡੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ; ਰਚਨਹਾਰੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jeh barabhandd. pindd teh naahee; rachanahaar teh naahee |
ਸਰੀਰ ਉਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਥੇ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕ (ਮਨ ਭੀ) ਉਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
Where the world is - the body is not there; the mind is not there either.
ਜੋੜਨਹਾਰੋ ਸਦਾ ਅਤੀਤਾ; ਇਹ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਸੁ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
jorranahaaro sadaa ateetaa; ih kaheeai kis maahee |2|
ਜੋੜਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਕੀਹਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਆਖੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
The Joiner is forever unattached; now, within whom is the soul said to be contained? ||2||
ਜੋੜੀ ਜੁੜੈ ਨ ਤੋੜੀ ਤੂਟੈ; ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
jorree jurrai na torree toottai; jab lag hoe binaasee |
ਮਿਲਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜਦ ਤਾਈ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸ ਨਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
By joining the elements, people cannot join them, and by breaking, they cannot be broken, until the body perishes.
ਕਾ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ. ਕਾ ਕੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ; ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੈ ਜਾਸੀ ॥੩॥

ਰੂਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰਾਣੀ? ਇਹ ਕਿਥੇ ਤੇ ਕੀਹਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
Of whom is the soul the master, and of whom is it the servant? Where, and to whom does it go? ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ. ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ; ਜਹਾ ਬਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਉਥੇ ਕੇਂਦਰਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
Says Kabeer, I have lovingly focused my attention on that place where the Lord dwells, day and night.
ਉਆ ਕਾ ਮਰਮੁ. ਓਹੀ ਪਰੁ ਜਾਨੈ; ਓਹੁ ਤਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੫੨॥

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਮਰ ਹੈ।
Only He Himself truly knows the secrets of His mystery; He is eternal and indestructible. ||4||1||52||

ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਥਾਰਥ ਗਿਆਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਹਰਲੀ ਖਫਣੀ ਹੈ।
Let contemplation and intuitive meditation be your two ear-rings, and true wisdom your patched overcoat.
ਸੁੰਨ ਗੁਫਾ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਬੈਸਣੁ; ਕਲਪ ਬਿਬਰਜਿਤ. ਪੰਥਾ ॥੧॥

ਧਿਆਨ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਚੁਪ ਚਾਪ ਕੰਦਰਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗਣਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਜਹਬੀ ਮਾਰਗ ਹੈ।
In the cave of silence, dwell in your Yogic posture; let the subjugation of desire be your spiritual path. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਜਨ; ਮੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੋਗੀ ॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਾਂ।
O my King, I am a Yogi, a hermit, a renunciate.
ਮਰਤ ਨ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਓਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਟੂਆ; ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਭਸਮਾਧਾਰੀ ॥
khandd brahamandd meh singee meraa battooaa; sabh jag bhasamaadhaaree |
ਆਲਮ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਿਆਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿੰਗ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਹਾਨ ਸੁਆਹ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਥੈਲਾ ਹੈ।
The solar systems and galaxies are my horn; the whole world is the bag to carry my ashes.
ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਲੁ ਪਲਟੀਐ; ਛੂਟੈ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥੨॥

ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
Eliminating the three qualities and finding release from this world is my deep meditation. ||2||
ਮਨੁ ਪਵਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਤੂੰਬਾ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ; ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਰਦ ਸਾਜੀ ॥
man pavan due toonbaa karee hai; jug jug saarad saajee |
