ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਲਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Serving the True Guru, one finds one's own place within the self. ||1||
ਮਨ ਚੂਰੇ; ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
man choore; khatt darasan jaan |
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਛਿਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ।
To conquer the mind is the knowledge of the six Shaastras.
ਸਰਬ ਜੋਤਿ; ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੀਰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The Divine Light of the Lord God is perfectly pervading. ||1||Pause||
ਅਧਿਕ ਤਿਆਸ; ਭੇਖ ਬਹੁ ਕਰੈ ॥
adhik tiaas; bhekh bahu karai |
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਘਣੇਰੀ ਤੇਹ, ਬੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਹਬੀ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦੀਂ ਹੈ।
Excessive thirst for Maya makes people wear all sorts of religious robes.
ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ; ਸੁਖੁ ਤਨਿ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
dukh bikhiaa; sukh tan paraharai |
ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਦੇਹ ਦੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The pain of corruption destroys the body's peace.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ; ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਹਿਰੈ ॥
kaam krodh; antar dhan hirai |
ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਰਾ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Sexual desire and anger steal the wealth of the self within.
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਛੋਡਿ; ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਰੈ ॥੨॥
dubidhaa chhodd; naam nisatarai |2|
ਦਵੈਤ ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
But by abandoning duality, one is emancipated through the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||
ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਣੁ; ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
sifat salaahan; sehaj anand |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਉਪਮਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ।
In the Lord's Praise and adoration is intuitive peace, poise and bliss.
ਸਖਾ ਸੈਨੁ; ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਮ੍ਰਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਹੈ।
The Love of the Lord God is one's family and friends.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ; ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥
aape kare; aape bakhasind |
ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
He Himself is the Doer, and He Himself is the Forgiver.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ; ਆਗੈ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥੩॥
tan man har peh; aagai jind |3|
ਮੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਧੀਨ।
My body and mind belong to the Lord; my life is at His Command. ||3||
ਝੂਠ ਵਿਕਾਰ; ਮਹਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੇਹ ॥
jhootth vikaar; mahaa dukh deh |
ਕੂੜ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Falsehood and corruption cause terrible suffering.
ਭੇਖ ਵਰਨ; ਦੀਸਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਖੇਹ ॥
bhekh varan; deeseh sabh kheh |
ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਪਰਦਾਈ ਬਾਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਿੰਦ ਦਿਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
All the religious robes and social classes look just like dust.
ਜੋ ਉਪਜੈ; ਸੋ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
jo upajai; so aavai jaae |
ਜੋ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whoever is born, continues to come and go.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੧॥

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਕੇਵਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਹੀ ਅਮਰ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, only the Naam and the Lord's Command are eternal and everlasting. ||4||11||

Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਏਕੋ ਸਰਵਰੁ; ਕਮਲ ਅਨੂਪ ॥

ਤਾਲਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੰਵਲ ਹੈ।
In the pool is the one incomparably beautiful lotus.
ਸਦਾ ਬਿਗਾਸੈ; ਪਰਮਲ ਰੂਪ ॥
sadaa bigaasai; paramal roop |
ਇਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਖਿੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
It blossoms continually; its form is pure and fragrant.
ਊਜਲ ਮੋਤੀ; ਚੂਗਹਿ ਹੰਸ ॥
aoojal motee; choogeh hans |
ਰਾਜ ਹੰਸ ਉਜਲੇ ਜਵਾਹਰਾਤ ਚੁਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
The swans pick up the bright jewels.
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ; ਜਗਦੀਸੈ ਅੰਸ ॥੧॥
sarab kalaa; jagadeesai ans |1|
ਉਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਅੰਗ ਹੈ।
They take on the essence of the All-powerful Lord of the Universe. ||1||
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ; ਸੋ ਉਪਜੈ ਬਿਨਸੈ ॥
jo deesai; so upajai binasai |
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੈ।
Whoever is seen, is subject to birth and death.
ਬਿਨੁ ਜਲ ਸਰਵਰਿ; ਕਮਲੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bin jal saravar; kamal na deesai |1| rahaau |
ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਖਣੇ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੰਵਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਸਦਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
In the pool without water, the lotus is not seen. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ; ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਦੁ ॥
biralaa boojhai; paavai bhed |
ਕੋਈ ਟਾਵਾਂ ਜਣਾ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
How rare are those who know and understand this secret.
ਸਾਖਾ ਤੀਨਿ; ਕਹੈ ਨਿਤ ਬੇਦੁ ॥
saakhaa teen; kahai nit bed |
ਵੇਦ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Vedas continually speak of the three branches.
ਨਾਦ ਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ; ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
naad bind kee; surat samaae |
ਜੋ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who merges into the knowledge of the Lord as absolute and related,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ; ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
satigur sev; param pad paae |2|
ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ, ਮਹਾਨ ਮਰਤਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
serves the True Guru and obtains the supreme status. ||2||
ਮੁਕਤੋ ਰਾਤਉ; ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵਾਂਤਉ ॥
mukato raatau; rang ravaantau |
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who is imbued with the Love of the Lord and dwells continually upon Him is liberated.
ਰਾਜਨ ਰਾਜਿ; ਸਦਾ ਬਿਗਸਾਂਤਉ ॥
raajan raaj; sadaa bigasaantau |
ਉਹ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He is the king of kings, and blossoms forth continually.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ; ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
jis toon raakheh; kirapaa dhaar |
ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਕੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਤਾਰਨਵਾਲੇ!
That one whom You preserve, by bestowing Your Mercy, O Lord,
ਬੂਡਤ ਪਾਹਨ; ਤਾਰਹਿ ਤਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
booddat paahan; taareh taar |3|
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਡੁਬਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪੱਥਰ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
even the sinking stone - You float that one across. ||3||
ਤਿ੍ਰਭਵਣ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ; ਤਿ੍ਰਭਵਣ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
tribhavan meh jot; tribhavan meh jaaniaa |
ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Your Light is pervading the three worlds; I know that You are permeating the three worlds.
ਉਲਟ ਭਈ; ਘਰੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਣਿਆ ॥
aulatt bhee; ghar ghar meh aaniaa |
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੋੜਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਆਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
When my mind turned away from Maya, I came to dwell in my own home.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ; ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
ahinis; bhagat kare liv laae |
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਿੱਜਾ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Nanak falls at the feet of that person who immerses himself in the Lord's Love,
ਨਾਨਕੁ; ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੨॥
naanak; tin kai laagai paae |4|12|
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
And performs devotional worship night and day. ||4||12||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ; ਹੁਜਤਿ ਦੂਰਿ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਢੁੱਚਰਬਾਜੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Receiving the True Teachings from the Guru, arguments depart.
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਿਆਣਪ; ਲਾਗੈ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
bahut siaanap; laagai dhoor |
ਖਰੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਹ ਚਿਮੜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
But through excessive cleverness, one is only plastered with dirt.
ਲਾਗੀ ਮੈਲੁ; ਮਿਟੈ ਸਚ ਨਾਇ ॥
laagee mail; mittai sach naae |
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਖੇਹ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The filth of attachment is removed by the True Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ; ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
gur parasaad; rahai liv laae |1|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜੀਵ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, one remains lovingly attached to the Lord. ||1||
ਹੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ; ਹਾਜਰੁ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
hai hajoor; haajar aradaas |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ।
He is the Presence Ever-present; offer your prayers to Him.
ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ; ਸਾਚੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dukh sukh; saach karate prabh paas |1| rahaau |
ਗ਼ਮੀ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Pain and pleasure are in the Hands of God, the True Creator. ||1||Pause||
ਕੂੜੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ; ਆਵੈ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
koorr kamaavai; aavai jaavai |
ਜੋ ਝੂਠ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who practices falsehood comes and goes.
ਕਹਣਿ ਕਥਨਿ; ਵਾਰਾ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥
kehan kathan; vaaraa nahee aavai |
ਆਖਣ ਤੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਵਾਂ ਗਉਣ ਦੇ ਓੜਕ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।
By speaking and talking, His limits cannot be found.
ਕਿਆ ਦੇਖਾ; ਸੂਝ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
kiaa dekhaa; soojh boojh na paavai |
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਵਿਖਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
Whatever one sees, is not understood.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ; ਮਨਿ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਤਿ. ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥
bin naavai; man tripat. na aavai |2|
ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮਨੁਸ਼ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
Without the Name, satisfaction does not enter into the mind. ||2||
ਜੋ ਜਨਮੇ; ਸੇ ਰੋਗਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥
jo janame; se rog viaape |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੁਬਤਲਾ ਹਨ,
Whoever is born is afflicted by disease,
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ; ਦੂਖਿ ਸੰਤਾਪੇ ॥
haumai maaeaa; dookh santaape |
ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਦੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
tortured by the pain of egotism and Maya.
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਬਾਚੇ; ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
se jan baache; jo prabh raakhe |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They alone are saved, who are protected by God.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੩॥
satigur sev; amrit ras chaakhe |3|
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਹਾਰ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Serving the True Guru, they drink in the Amrit, the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3||
ਚਲਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖੈ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਚਾਖੈ ॥
chaltau man raakhai; amrit chaakhai |
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਨੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਹੋੜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
The unstable mind is restrained by tasting this Nectar.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਜੀਅਦਾਨ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਵਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Serving the True Guru, one comes to cherish the Ambrosial Nectar of the Shabad.
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ; ਮੁਕਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥

ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਮੋਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦੇ ਮਰਤਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ,
Through the True Word of the Shabad, the state of liberation is obtained.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੪॥੧੩॥

ਅਤੇ ਤਦ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, self-conceit is eradicated from within. ||4||13||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਜੋ ਤਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ; ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
jo tin keea; so sach theea |
ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੋ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever He has done, has proved to be true.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
amrit naam; satigur deea |
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The True Guru bestows the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ; ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥
hiradai naam; naahee man bhang |
ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਸਹਿਤ, ਮਾਨਸਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉਹ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
With the Naam in the heart, the mind is not separated from the Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ; ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਗੁ ॥੧॥

ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
Night and day, one dwells with the Beloved. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ; ਰਾਖਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
har jeeo; raakhahu apanee saranaaee |
ਹੇ ਮਾਣਨੀਯ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਰੱਖ।
O Lord, please keep me in the Protection of Your Sanctuary.
