ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ. ਛਪੈ ਕਿਉ ਛਪਿਆ; ਏਕੀ ਏਕੀ ਵੰਡਿ ਦੀਆ ॥੪॥੭॥
kahai naanak. chhapai kiau chhapiaa; ekee ekee vandd deea |4|7|
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਲੁਕਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਇਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਤਨ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Says Nanak, by hiding, how can the Lord be hidden? He has given each their share, one by one. ||4||7||

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤੂਤਿ ਬੇਲਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੀ; ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਫਲੁ ਹੂਆ ॥
karam karatoot bel bisathaaree; raam naam fal hooaa |
ਚੰਗੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਚੇ ਚਾਲ-ਚਲਣ ਦੀ ਬੇਲ ਫੈਲਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੇਵਾ ਲਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
The vine of good actions and character has spread out, and it bears the fruit of the Lord's Name.
ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ. ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ; ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਿ ਕੀਆ ॥੧॥

ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਰੂਪ ਜਾਂ ਨੁਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਹ ਸੁਤੇ ਸਿਧ ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Name has no form or outline; it vibrates with the unstruck Sound Current; through the Word of the Shabad, the Immaculate Lord is revealed. ||1||
ਕਰੇ ਵਖਿਆਣੁ; ਜਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ॥
kare vakhiaan; jaanai je koee |
ਜੇਕਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝੇ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ।
One can speak on this only when he knows it.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਸੁਧ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
He alone drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨੑ ਪੀਆ. ਸੇ ਮਸਤ ਭਏ ਹੈ; ਤੂਟੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਫਾਹੇ ॥
jina peea. se masat bhe hai; tootte bandhan faahe |
ਜੋ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੂੜ ਅਤੇ ਫਾਂਸੀਆਂ ਕੱਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Those who drink it in are enraptured; their bonds and shackles are cut away.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਭੀਤਰਿ; ਤਾ ਛੋਡੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਲਾਹੇ ॥੨॥
jotee jot samaanee bheetar; taa chhodde maaeaa ke laahe |2|
ਜਦ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਨੂਰ ਰੱਬੀ ਨੂਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
When one's light blends into the Divine Light, then the desire for Maya is ended. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਜੋਤਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ; ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
sarab jot roop teraa dekhiaa; sagal bhavan teree maaeaa |
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਰੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹਨ।
Among all lights, I behold Your Form; all the worlds are Your Maya.
ਰਾਰੈ. ਰੂਪਿ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੁ ਬੈਠਾ; ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਛਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
raarai. roop niraalam baitthaa; nadar kare vich chhaaeaa |3|
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਆਂ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਵਿਚਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਤਮਕ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਖ਼ੱਚਤ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Among the tumults and forms, He sits in serene detachment; He bestows His Glance of Grace upon those who are engrossed in the illusion. ||3||
ਬੀਣਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਵੈ ਜੋਗੀ; ਦਰਸਨਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
beenaa sabad vajaavai jogee; darasan roop apaaraa |
ਯੋਗੀ ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਿਅੰਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Yogi who plays on the instrument of the Shabad gains the Blessed Vision of the Infinitely Beautiful Lord.
ਸਬਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ. ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਰਾਤਾ; ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੮॥
sabad anaahad. so sahu raataa; naanak kahai vichaaraa |4|8|
ਮਸਕੀਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੈ।
He, the Lord, is immersed in the Unstruck Shabad of the Word, says Nanak, the humble and meek. ||4||8||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਮੈ ਗੁਣ; ਗਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰ ॥
mai gun; galaa ke sir bhaar |
ਮੇਰੀ ਖੂਬੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੀਸ ਉਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਧੂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਬੋਝ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
My virtue is that I carry the load of my words upon my head.
ਗਲੀ ਗਲਾ; ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ॥
galee galaa; sirajanahaar |
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਲਾਸ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਲਾਸਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਰਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ।
The real words are the Words of the Creator Lord.
ਖਾਣਾ ਪੀਣਾ ਹਸਣਾ ਬਾਦਿ ॥
khaanaa peenaa hasanaa baad |
ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਖਾਣ, ਪੀਣ ਤੇ ਹੱਸਣ ਬੇਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੈ,
How useless are eating, drinking and laughing,
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਰਿਦੈ; ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਯਾਦਿ ॥੧॥
jab lag ridai; na aaveh yaad |1|
ਜਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
if the Lord is not cherished in the heart! ||1||
ਤਉ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਕੇਹੀ; ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
tau paravaah kehee; kiaa keejai |
ਤੂੰ ਕਾਹਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ ਧਰਾਵੇਂ,
Why should someone care for anything else,
ਜਨਮਿ ਜਨਮਿ; ਕਿਛੁ ਲੀਜੀ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam janam; kichh leejee leejai |1| rahaau |
ਜੇਕਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਆਰਬਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨਯੋਗ ਚੀਜ਼, ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੇਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
if throughout his life, he gathers in that which is truly worth gathering? ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ; ਮਤਾਗਲੁ ਮਤਾ ॥
man kee mat; mataagal mataa |
ਮਨ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਨਸ਼ਈ ਹਾਥੀ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ।
The intellect of the mind is like a drunken elephant.
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਬੋਲੀਐ; ਸਭੁ ਖਤੋ ਖਤਾ ॥
jo kichh boleeai; sabh khato khataa |
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਗਲਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਲਤ ਹੈ।
Whatever one utters is totally false, the most false of the false.
ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਲੈ; ਕੀਚੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
kiaa muhu lai; keechai aradaas |
ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੀਏ,
So what face should we put on to offer our prayer,
ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ; ਸਾਖੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
paap pun due; saakhee paas |2|
ਜਦ ਕਿ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੋਨੇ, ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਵਜੋ, ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ।
when both virtue and vice are close at hand as witnesses? ||2||
ਜੈਸਾ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਹਿ; ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋ ਹੋਇ ॥
jaisaa toon kareh; taisaa ko hoe |
ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਉਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As You make us, so we become.
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ; ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
tujh bin; doojaa naahee koe |
ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
Without You, there is no other at all.
ਜੇਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ; ਤੇਹੀ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
jehee toon mat dehi; tehee ko paavai |
ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
As is the understanding which You bestow, so do we receive.
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
tudh aape bhaavai; tivai chalaavai |3|
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
As it pleases Your Will, so do You lead us. ||3||
ਰਾਗ ਰਤਨ; ਪਰੀਆ ਪਰਵਾਰ ॥
raag ratan; pareea paravaar |
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਾਗਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਸਮੇਤ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਇਕ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਹੈ।
The divine crystalline harmonies, their consorts, and their celestial families
ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ; ਉਪਜੈ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਸਾਰ ॥
tis vich; upajai amrit saar |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੁੱਧਾਰਸ ਦਾ ਜੌਹਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
from them, the essence of Ambrosial Nectar is produced.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ; ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥
naanak. karate kaa; ihu dhan maal |
ਨਾਨਕ, ਇਹ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, this is the wealth and property of the Creator Lord.
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਬੂਝੈ; ਏਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੯॥
je ko boojhai; ehu beechaar |4|9|
ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਜਣਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਨੁਕਤੇ, ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ?
If only this essential reality were understood! ||4||9||

ਜਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੰਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ, ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਵਿਆਹ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
When by His Grace He came to my home, then my companions met together to celebrate my marriage.
ਖੇਲੁ ਦੇਖਿ; ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ; ਸਹੁ ਵੀਆਹਣ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
khel dekh; man anad bheaa; sahu veeaahan aaeaa |1|
ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਲਾੜ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
Beholding this play, my mind became blissful; my Husband Lord has come to marry me. ||1||
ਗਾਵਹੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਕਾਮਣੀ; ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
gaavahu gaavahu kaamanee; bibek beechaar |
ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ, ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਓ! ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ।
So sing - yes, sing the songs of wisdom and reflection, O brides.
ਹਮਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ; ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hamarai ghar aaeaa; jagajeevan bhataar |1| rahaau |
ਮੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਤ, ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
My spouse, the Life of the world, has come into my home. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ. ਹਮਰਾ ਵੀਆਹੁ ਜਿ ਹੋਆ; ਜਾਂ ਸਹੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ. ਤਾਂ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
guroo duaarai. hamaraa veeaahu ji hoaa; jaan sahu miliaa. taan jaaniaa |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੀਆਹ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਆਣ ਲਿਆ।
When I was married within the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, I met my Husband Lord, and I came to know Him.
ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮਹਿ. ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਹੈ; ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥
tihu lokaa meh. sabad raviaa hai; aap geaa man maaniaa |2|
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
The Word of His Shabad is pervading the three worlds; when my ego was quieted, my mind became happy. ||2||
ਆਪਣਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ. ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ; ਹੋਰਨਿ. ਕਾਰਜੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
aapanaa kaaraj. aap savaare; horan. kaaraj na hoee |
ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਰਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
He Himself arranges His own affairs; His affairs cannot be arranged by anyone else.
ਜਿਤੁ ਕਾਰਜਿ, ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ. ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
jit kaaraj, sat santokh deaa dharam hai; guramukh. boojhai koee |3|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਿਆਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰ ਸਚ, ਸਬਰ-ਸਿਦਕ ਰਹਿਮ ਤੇ ਈਮਾਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
By the affair of this marriage, truth, contentment, mercy and faith are produced; but how rare is that Gurmukh who understands it! ||3||
ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ; ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਪਿਰੁ. ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥
bhanat naanak; sabhanaa kaa pir. eko soe |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਤ ਹੈ।
Says Nanak, that Lord alone is the Husband of all.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ; ਸਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੧੦॥
jis no nadar kare; saa sohaagan hoe |4|10|
ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ-ਕੰਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
She, upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace, becomes the happy soul-bride. ||4||10||

Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਗਿ੍ਰਹੁ ਬਨੁ ਸਮਸਰਿ; ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
grihu ban samasar; sehaj subhaae |
ਉਹ ਜੋ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਇਕਸਾਰ ਹਨ।
Home and forest are the same, for one who dwells in the balance of intuitive peace and poise.
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਤੁ ਭਈ; ਕੀਰਤਿ ਠਾਇ ॥
duramat gat bhee; keerat tthaae |
ਉਸਦੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਮੱਲ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
His evil-mindedness departs, and the Praises of God take its place.
ਸਚ ਪਉੜੀ; ਸਾਚਉ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਂਉ ॥
sach paurree; saachau mukh naanau |
ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ, ਸਾਈਂ ਕੋਲ ਅਪੜਨ ਲਈ ਸੱਚੀ ਸੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ।
To chant the True Name with one's mouth is the true ladder.
