Pauree:

ਤੇਰ੍ਹਵੀ ਤਿੱਥ-ਜਹਾਨ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾ ਦੇ ਬੁਖਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੁਖਾਂਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

The thirteenth day of the lunar cycle: The world is in the fever of the three qualities.

ਇਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

It comes and goes, and is reincarnated in hell.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

Meditation on the Lord, Har, Har, does not enter into the minds of the people.

ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤੀ, ਉਹ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

They do not sing the Praises of God, the Ocean of peace, even for an instant.

ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਹੈ।

This body is the embodiment of pleasure and pain.

ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਲਾਜ਼ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

It suffers from the chronic and incurable disease of Maya.

ਉਹ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਬਦੀ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰ ਹੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

By day, people practice corruption, wearing themselves out.

ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਦ੍ਰਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰੜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

And then with sleep in their eyes, they mutter in dreams.

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਦਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Forgetting the Lord, this is their condition.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ, ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲਈ ਹੈ।

Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, the kind and compassionate Primal Being. ||13||
