ਰਾਗ ਗਊੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਬਗੈਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੇ।

There is no peace without devotional worship of the Lord.

ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਇਹੁ ਅਣਮੁੱਲਾ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Be victorious, and win the priceless jewel of this human life, by meditating on Him in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, even for an instant. ||1||Pause||

ਪੁਤ੍ਰਾਂ, ਦੌਲਤ, ਪਤਨੀ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ

Many have renounced and left their children,

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Wealth, spouses, joyful games and pleasures. ||1||

ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਠਾਠ ਬਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ,

Horses, elephants and the pleasures of power

ਤਲਾਂਜਲੀ ਦਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੰਗ-ਧੜੰਗਾ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

- leaving these behind, the fool must depart naked. ||2||

ਦੇਹਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਗਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਨਣ ਦੇ ਅਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਫੁਲੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਸੀ,

The body, scented with musk and sandalwood

ਉਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੁਲ ਜਾਏਗੀ।

- that body shall come to roll in the dust. ||3||

ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਮਤਹੀਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।

Infatuated with emotional attachment, they think that God is far away.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, he is Ever-present! ||4||1||139||
