ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ (ਪੇਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ), ਮੈਂ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਰਹੀ,

In this world of my father's house, I, the soul-bride, have been very childish;

ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਦੀ ਮੈਂ ਸਿੰਆਣ ਨਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ।

I did not realize the value of my Husband Lord. ||1||

ਮੈਡਾਂ ਭਤਾਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

My Husband is the One; there is no other like Him.

ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਧਾਰੇ, ਤਦ ਮੇਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਵਾਂਗੀ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

If He bestows His Glance of Grace, then I shall meet Him. ||1||Pause||

ਅਗਲੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਊਗੀ,

In the next world of my in-law's house, I, the the soul-bride, shall realize Truth;

ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਆਣ ਲਵੇਗੀ।

I shall come to know the celestial peace of my Husband Lord. ||2||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਜੇਕਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ,

By Guru's Grace, such wisdom comes to me,

ਤਦ, ਪਤਨੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਭਾ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

so that the soul-bride becomes pleasing to the Mind of the Husband Lord. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ,

Says Nanak, she who adorns herself with the Love and the Fear of God,

ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਤੇ ਨੂੰ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ, ਪਲੰਘ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।

enjoys her Husband Lord forever on His Bed. ||4||27||
