ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਤਾ।

No one is anyone else's son, and no one is anyone else's mother.

ਕੂੜੀ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵਹਿਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Through false attachments, people wander around in doubt. ||1||

ਮੈਂਡ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹਾਂ।

O My Lord and Master, I am created by You.

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

If You give it to me, I will chant Your Name. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਘਣੇਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਤ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੇ,

That person who is filled with all sorts of sins may pray at the Lord's Door,

ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ।

but he is forgiven only when the Lord so wills. ||2||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਖੋਟੀ ਅਕਲ ਜੜੋਂ ਮੇਖੋਂ ਪੁੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, evil-mindedness is destroyed.

ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Wherever I look, there I find the One Lord. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ,

Says Nanak, if one comes to such an understanding,

ਤਦ ਉਹ ਸਚਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

then he is absorbed into the Truest of the True. ||4||28||
