ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਦ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

There is no limit to His play.

ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਥੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

All the demigods have grown weary of searching for it.

ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਪੂ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ?

What does the son know of his father's birth?

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।

All are strung upon His string.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਅਕਲ, ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਵੀਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ,

He bestows good sense, spiritual wisdom and meditation,

ਉਹ ਗੋਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

On His humble servants and slaves who meditate on the Naam.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

He leads some astray in the three qualities;

ਉਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

they are born and die, coming and going over and over again.

ਉਚੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਨੀਵੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

The high and the low are His places.

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਓਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

As He inspires us to know Him, O Nanak, so is He known. ||3||
