ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਹਨ, ਛੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਛੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਤ।

There are six systems of philosophy, six teachers, and six doctrines;

ਪਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਉਸਤਾਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਹਨ।

but the Teacher of teachers is the One Lord, who appears in so many forms. ||1||

ਜਿਸ ਮੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,

That system, where the Praises of the Creator are sung

ਉਸ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਪੈਰਵੀ ਕਰ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

- follow that system; in it rests greatness. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਸੈਕਿੰਡ, ਮਿੰਟ, ਘੰਟੇ ਪਹਰ, ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ, ਹਫਤੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਹੁੰ,

As the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weekdays months

ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਮੌਸਮ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਕੱਲੇ ਆਫਤਾਬ ਤੋਂ,

And seasons all originate from the one sun,

ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!

O Nanak, so do all forms originate from the One Creator. ||2||30||
