ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ; ਸੁ ਆਵੈ ਨ. ਚੀਤਿ ॥
sang sahaaee; su aavai na. cheet |
ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
The Lord, our Help and Support, is always with us, but the mortal does not remember Him.
ਜੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ; ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
jo bairaaee; taa siau preet |
ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਹੈ।
He shows love to his enemies.
ਬਲੂਆ ਕੇ ਗਿ੍ਰਹ; ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬਸੈ ॥
balooaa ke grih; bheetar basai |
ਉਹ ਰੇਤ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੰਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He lives in a castle of sand.
ਅਨਦ ਕੇਲ; ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਸੈ ॥
anad kel; maaeaa rang rasai |
ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
He enjoys the games of pleasure and the tastes of Maya.
ਦਿ੍ਰੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੈ; ਮਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਿ ॥
drirr kar maanai; maneh prateet |
ਉਹ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੰਗਰਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸਤਕਿਲ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਯਕੀਨ।
He believes them to be permanent - this is the belief of his mind.
ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ; ਮੂੜੇ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
kaal na aavai; moorre cheet |
ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
Death does not even come to mind for the fool.
ਬੈਰ ਬਿਰੋਧ; ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮੋਹ ॥
bair birodh; kaam krodh moh |
ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ, ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ, ਵਿਸ਼ੇਭੋਗ, ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਮਮਤਾ,
Hate, conflict, sexual desire, anger, emotional attachment,
ਝੂਠ ਬਿਕਾਰ; ਮਹਾ ਲੋਭ ਧ੍ਰੋਹ ॥
jhootth bikaar; mahaa lobh dhroh |
ਕੂੜ, ਪਾਪ, ਪਰਮ ਲਾਲਚ ਅਤੇ ਛਲ-ਕਪਟ।
falsehood, corruption, immense greed and deceit:
ਇਆਹੂ ਜੁਗਤਿ; ਬਿਹਾਨੇ ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ॥
eaahoo jugat; bihaane kee janam |
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਤੀਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
So many lifetimes are wasted in these ways.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ; ਆਪਨ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਮ ॥੭॥

ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ।
Nanak: uplift them, and redeem them, O Lord - show Your Mercy! ||7||
