ਰਾਗ ਗਊੜੀ ਮਾਝ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Raag Gauree Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਹੈ ਪੂਜਯ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਮਸਕੀਨਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੇਟ ਉਦਾਲੇ-ਰੱਸੀ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ,

O Merciful to the meek, O Dear Lord King,

ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

You have engaged millions of people in Your Service.

ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈਂ। ਇਹ ਨਿਤਕ੍ਰਮ ਤੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

You are the Lover of Your devotees; this is Your Nature.

ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।

You are totally pervading all places. ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਰਾਂ ਵੇਖਾਂਗੀ? ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਜੀਵਨੀ ਰਹੁ ਰੀਤੀ ਹੈ?

How can I behold my Beloved? What is that way of life?

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲਣ ਹੋ ਜਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ।

Become the slave of the Saints, and serve at their feet.

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ, ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਕਰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ।

I dedicate this soul; I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to them.

ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ।

Bowing low, I fall at the Feet of the Lord. ||2||

ਪੰਡਤ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਚਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Pandits, the religious scholars, study the books of the Vedas.

ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮ ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Some become renunciates, and bathe at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਗਾਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਰੀਲੀਆਂ ਸੁਰਾਂ ਅਲਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ।

Some sing tunes and melodies and songs.

ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਭੈ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।

But I meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Fearless Lord. ||3||

ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

My Lord and Master has become merciful to me.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਰੀ ਪੈ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪੀ, ਪਵਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ।

I was a sinner, and I have been sanctified, taking to the Guru's Feet.

ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

Dispelling my doubts and fears, the Guru has rid me of hatred.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਊਮੈਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ।

The Guru has fulfilled the desires of my mind. ||4||

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੈ।

One who has obtained the Name is wealthy.

ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹੈ ਉਹ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

One who meditates on God is glorified.

ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮ, ਜੋ ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

Sublime are all the actions of those who join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Servant Nanak is intuitively absorbed into the Lord. ||5||1||166||
