ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one becomes a wry-faced malcontent.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਂ ਕਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one croaks like a raven.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੱਪ ਦੀ ਜੂਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one is reincarnated as a snake.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਦਾ ਕੀੜੇ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਰੀਗਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one is reincarnated as a wiggling worm.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਹ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one burns in the fire of desire.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰ ਇਕਸ ਨਾਲ ਠੱਗੀ ਠੋਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one tries to deceive everyone.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਰਸੂਖ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, all one's influence vanishes.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਮੀਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮ ਕਮੀਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slandering the Saints, one becomes the lowest of the low.

ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।

For the slanderer of the Saint, there is no place of rest.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, even then, he may be saved. ||2||
