ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਛ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself does everything, the True, Invisible, Infinite Lord.

ਮੈਂ ਗੁਨਾਹਗਾਰ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਫੀ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ।

I am a sinner, You are the Forgiver. ||1||

ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ।

By Your Will, everything come to pass.

ਜੋ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਖਿਰਕਾਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

One who acts in stubborn-mindedness is ruined in the end. ||1||Pause||

ਆਪ ਹੁਦਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਸ਼ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਝੂਠ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੱਚਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

The intellect of the self-willed manmukh is engrossed in falsehood.

ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਇਹ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

Without the meditative remembrance of the Lord, it suffers in sin. ||2||

ਮੰਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਕੁੱਛ ਲਾਭ ਉਠਾ।

Renounce evil-mindedness, and you shall reap the rewards.

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਗਾਧ ਭੇਦ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

Whoever is born, comes through the Unknowable and Mysterious Lord. ||3||

ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ।

Such is my Friend and Companion;

ਰੱਬ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਪੱਕੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ,

meeting with the Guru, the Lord, devotion was implanted within me. ||4||

ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੌਦਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਟਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

In all other transactions, one suffers loss.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Name of the Lord is pleasing to Nanak's mind. ||5||24||
