ਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਛਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ; ਨਾਹੀ ਦਰੁ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
gur puchh dekhiaa; naahee dar hor |
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਬੂਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ!
I have consulted the Guru, and I have seen that there is no other door than His.
ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਭਾਣੈ; ਤਿਸੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥
dukh sukh bhaanai; tisai rajaae |
ਪੀੜ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਸੰਨਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੇ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ।
Pain and pleasure reside in the Pleasure of His Will and His Command.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਕਹੈ; ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੮॥੪॥

ਮਸਕੀਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾ।
Nanak, the lowly, says embrace love for the Lord. ||8||4||

ਹੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਲਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
The duality of Maya dwells in the consciousness of the people of the world.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ; ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
kaam krodh; ahankaar binaas |1|
ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸ, ਗੁੱਸੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
They are destroyed by sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||1||
ਦੂਜਾ ਕਉਣੁ ਕਹਾ; ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
doojaa kaun kahaa; nahee koee |
ਮੈਂ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਾ, ਜਦ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ?
Whom should I call the second, when there is only the One?
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ; ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਕ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The One Immaculate Lord is pervading among all. ||1||Pause||
ਦੂਜੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ; ਆਖੈ ਦੋਇ ॥

ਦੁਸਰੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਬੁਧੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਹੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The dual-minded evil intellect speaks of a second.
ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ; ਮਰਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
aavai jaae; mar doojaa hoe |2|
ਆਉਂਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ, ਜੋ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who harbors duality comes and goes and dies. ||2||
ਧਰਣਿ ਗਗਨ; ਨਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਦੋਇ ॥
dharan gagan; neh dekhau doe |
ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਸੁ ਕੋਈ ਦਿੱਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
In the earth and in the sky, I do not see any second.
ਨਾਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ; ਸਬਾਈ ਲੋਇ ॥੩॥

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਅੰਦਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ।
Among all the women and the men, His Light is shining. ||3||
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਦੇਖਉ; ਦੀਪਕ ਉਜਿਆਲਾ ॥
rav sas dekhau; deepak ujiaalaa |
ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਵਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
In the lamps of the sun and the moon, I see His Light.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ; ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਬਾਲਾ ॥੪॥
sarab nirantar; preetam baalaa |4|
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ-ਜੁਆਨ ਦਿਲਜਾਨੀ ਹੈ।
Dwelling among all is my ever-youthful Beloved. ||4||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ; ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
kar kirapaa; meraa chit laaeaa |
ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
In His Mercy, He attuned my consciousness to the Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ; ਮੋ ਕਉ ਏਕੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
satigur; mo kau ek bujhaaeaa |5|
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਰਸਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
The True Guru has led me to understand the One Lord. ||5||
ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
ek niranjan; guramukh jaataa |
ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੇਵਲ ਪਾਵਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh knows the One Immaculate Lord.
ਦੂਜਾ ਮਾਰਿ; ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥੬॥
doojaa maar; sabad pachhaataa |6|
ਸੰਸਾਰੀ, ਲਗਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਸ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Subduing duality, one comes to realize the Word of the Shabad. ||6||
ਏਕੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ; ਸਭ ਲੋਈ ॥
eko hukam varatai; sabh loee |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੀ ਕੇਵਲ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜਹਾਨਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਚਲਤ ਹੈ!
The Command of the One Lord prevails throughout all the worlds.
ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ; ਸਭ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੭॥
ekas te; sabh opat hoee |7|
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
From the One, all have arisen. ||7||
ਰਾਹ ਦੋਵੈ; ਖਸਮੁ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
raah dovai; khasam eko jaan |
ਰਸਤੇ ਦੋ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
There are two routes, but remember that their Lord and Master is only One.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ; ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥੮॥
gur kai sabad; hukam pachhaan |8|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, recognize the Hukam of the Lord's Command. ||8||
ਸਗਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਰਨ; ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
sagal roop varan; man maahee |
ਜੋ ਸਮੂਹ ਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਰੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
He is contained in all forms, colors and minds.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ; ਏਕੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥੯॥੫॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Says Nanak, praise the One Lord. ||9||5||

ਅਧਿਆਤਮ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ; ਤਾ ਸਾਚਾ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਅਮਲ ਕਮਾਵੇ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ।
Those who live a spiritual lifestyle - they alone are true.
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੇਦੁ; ਕਿਆ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਾਚਾ ॥੧॥
mukat bhed; kiaa jaanai kaachaa |1|
ਕੁੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਮੋਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦੇ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
What can the false know about the secrets of liberation? ||1||
ਐਸਾ ਜੋਗੀ; ਜੁਗਤਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥
aisaa jogee; jugat beechaarai |
ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਯੋਗੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who contemplate the Way are Yogis.
ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ; ਸਾਚੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
panch maar; saach ur dhaarai |1| rahaau |
ਉਹ ਪੰਜੇ ਕੱਟੜ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
They conquer the five thieves, and enshrine the True Lord in the heart. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ; ਸਾਚੁ ਵਸਾਵੈ ॥
jis kai antar; saach vasaavai |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰੀ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Those who enshrine the True Lord deep within,
ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕੀ; ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
jog jugat kee; keemat paavai |2|
ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
realize the value of the Way of Yoga. ||2||
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਏਕੋ; ਗਿ੍ਰਹ ਉਦਿਆਨੈ ॥
rav sas eko; grih udiaanai |
ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੂਰਜ, ਚੰਦ, ਘਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਆਬਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
The sun and the moon are one and the same for them, as are household and wilderness.
ਕਰਣੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ; ਕਰਮ ਸਮਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
karanee keerat; karam samaanai |3|
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਆਲਾਪਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਤ ਦੀ ਰਹੁ-ਰੀਤੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੈ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The karma of their daily practice is to praise the Lord. ||3||
ਏਕ ਸਬਦ; ਇਕ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਗੈ ॥
ek sabad; ik bhikhiaa maagai |
ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
They beg for the alms of the one and only Shabad.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਜੁਗਤਿ; ਸਚੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੪॥
giaan dhiaan jugat; sach jaagai |4|
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ-ਰੀਤੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ!
They remain awake and aware in spiritual wisdom and meditation, and the true way of life. ||4||
ਭੈ ਰਚਿ ਰਹੈ; ਨ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
bhai rach rahai; na baahar jaae |
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
They remain absorbed in the fear of God; they never leave it.
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਉਣ; ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੫॥
keemat kaun; rahai liv laae |5|
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਕੌਣ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Who can estimate their value? They remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord. ||5||
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੇ; ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ॥
aape mele; bharam chukaae |
ਸਾਈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord unites them with Himself, dispelling their doubts.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ; ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
gur parasaad; param pad paae |6|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਰਤਬਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, the supreme status is obtained. ||6||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ; ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
gur kee sevaa; sabad veechaar |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਈ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
In the Guru's service is reflection upon the Shabad.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੇ; ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੭॥
haumai maare; karanee saar |7|
ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
Subduing ego, practice pure actions. ||7||
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ; ਪਾਠ ਪੁਰਾਣੁ ॥
jap tap sanjam; paatth puraan |
ਪੂਜਾ, ਤਪੱਸਿਆ, ਸਵੈ-ਰਿਆਜ਼ਤ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਦਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ,
Chanting, meditation, austere self-discipline and the reading of the Puraanas,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ; ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੮॥੬॥

ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਧਾਰਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
says Nanak, are contained in surrender to the Unlimited Lord. ||8||6||

ਮਾਫੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਉਪਹਾਸ ਉਤਮ ਆਚਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਹੈ।
To practice forgiveness is the true fast, good conduct and contentment.
ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ; ਨਾ ਜਮ ਦੋਖੰ ॥
rog na biaapai; naa jam dokhan |
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਾਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਤਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Disease does not afflict me, nor does the pain of death.
ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ; ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਰੇਖੰ ॥੧॥
mukat bhe; prabh roop na rekhan |1|
ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਤੇ ਨੁਹਾਰ ਰਹਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
I am liberated, and absorbed into God, who has no form or feature. ||1||
ਜੋਗੀ ਕਉ; ਕੈਸਾ ਡਰੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
jogee kau; kaisaa ddar hoe |
ਯੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਹਦਾ ਭੈ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
What fear does the Yogi have?
ਰੂਖਿ ਬਿਰਖਿ; ਗਿ੍ਰਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rookh birakh; grihi baahar soe |1| rahaau |
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਰਖਤਾਂ, ਪੌਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The Lord is among the trees and the plants, within the household and outside as well. ||1||Pause||
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜੋਗੀ; ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
nirbhau jogee; niranjan dhiaavai |
ਯੋਗੀ ਡਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Yogis meditate on the Fearless, Immaculate Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ; ਸਚਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥

ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Night and day, they remain awake and aware, embracing love for the True Lord.
ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ; ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
so jogee; merai man bhaavai |2|
ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਯੋਗੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those Yogis are pleasing to my mind. ||2||
ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ; ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਗਨੀ ਜਾਰੇ ॥
kaal jaal; braham aganee jaare |
ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The trap of death is burnt by the Fire of God.
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ ਗਤੁ; ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
jaraa maran gat; garab nivaare |
ਉਹ ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
Old age, death and pride are conquered.
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ; ਪਿਤਰੀ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
aap tarai; pitaree nisataare |3|
ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They swim across, and save their ancestors as well. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ; ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
satigur seve; so jogee hoe |
ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਯੋਗੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who serve the True Guru are the Yogis.
ਭੈ ਰਚਿ ਰਹੈ; ਸੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
bhai rach rahai; su nirbhau hoe |
ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਿਡੱਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who remain immersed in the Fear of God become fearless.
ਜੈਸਾ ਸੇਵੈ; ਤੈਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥
jaisaa sevai; taiso hoe |4|
ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਹ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They become just like the One they serve. ||4||
