ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤਾ ਓਇ ਭੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, even then, he may be saved. ||2||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ; ਮਹਾ ਅਤਤਾਈ ॥
sant kaa nindak; mahaa atataaee |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅੱਤ ਦਾ ਭੈੜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is the worst evil-doer.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ; ਖਿਨੁ. ਟਿਕਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
sant kaa nindak; khin. ttikan na paaee |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
The slanderer of the Saint has not even a moment's rest.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ; ਮਹਾ ਹਤਿਆਰਾ ॥
sant kaa nindak; mahaa hatiaaraa |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਸਾਈ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is a brutal butcher.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ; ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਾ ॥
sant kaa nindak; paramesur maaraa |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is cursed by the Transcendent Lord.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ; ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਹੀਨੁ ॥
sant kaa nindak; raaj te heen |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint has no kingdom.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ; ਦੁਖੀਆ ਅਰੁ ਦੀਨੁ ॥
sant kaa nindak; dukheea ar deen |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੀੜਤ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint becomes miserable and poor.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ; ਸਰਬ ਰੋਗ ॥
sant ke nindak kau; sarab rog |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The slanderer of the Saint contracts all diseases.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ; ਸਦਾ ਬਿਜੋਗ ॥
sant ke nindak kau; sadaa bijog |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is forever separated.
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ; ਦੋਖ ਮਹਿ ਦੋਖੁ ॥
sant kee nindaa; dokh meh dokh |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਬਦਖੋਈ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਹੈ।
To slander a Saint is the worst sin of sins.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤਾ ਉਸ ਕਾ ਭੀ. ਹੋਇ ਮੋਖੁ ॥੩॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗੇ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਮੋਖ਼ਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even this one may be liberated. ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਸਦਾ ਅਪਵਿਤੁ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; sadaa apavit |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਲੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is forever impure.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਕਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਮਿਤੁ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; kisai kaa nahee mit |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
The slanderer of the Saint is nobody's friend.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ; ਡਾਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
sant ke dokhee kau; ddaan laagai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint shall be punished.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ; ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗੈ ॥
sant ke dokhee kau; sabh tiaagai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The slanderer of the Saint is abandoned by all.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਮਹਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; mahaa ahankaaree |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਗਰੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is totally egocentric.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਸਦਾ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; sadaa bikaaree |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਾਪੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is forever corrupt.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਜਨਮੈ ਮਰੈ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; janamai marai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint must endure birth and death.
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਦੂਖਨਾ; ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਟਰੈ ॥
sant kee dookhanaa; sukh te ttarai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਆਰਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of peace.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ; ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
sant ke dokhee kau; naahee tthaau |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।
The slanderer of the Saint has no place of rest.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ।
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even such a one may merge in union. ||4||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਅਧ ਬੀਚ ਤੇ ਟੂਟੈ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; adh beech te ttoottai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਅਧ-ਵਾਟਿਓ ਹੀ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint breaks down mid-way.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਕਿਤੈ ਕਾਜਿ. ਨ ਪਹੂਚੈ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; kitai kaaj. na pahoochai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ।
The slanderer of the Saint cannot accomplish his tasks.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ; ਉਦਿਆਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਈਐ ॥
sant ke dokhee kau; udiaan bhramaaeeai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਚਿਤਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੀਆਬਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint wanders in the wilderness.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; ujharr paaeeai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਚਿਤਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਜਾੜੂ ਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is misled into desolation.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਅੰਤਰ ਤੇ ਥੋਥਾ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; antar te thothaa |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਚਿਤਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The slanderer of the Saint is empty inside,
ਜਿਉ ਸਾਸ ਬਿਨਾ; ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕੀ ਲੋਥਾ ॥
jiau saas binaa; miratak kee lothaa |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
like the corpse of a dead man, without the breath of life.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ; ਜੜ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
sant ke dokhee kee; jarr kichh naeh |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਜੜ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
The slanderer of the Saint has no heritage at all.
ਆਪਨ ਬੀਜਿ; ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ ॥
aapan beej; aape hee khaeh |
ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He himself must eat what he has planted.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ; ਅਵਰੁ. ਨ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ॥
sant ke dokhee kau; avar. na raakhanahaar |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
The slanderer of the Saint cannot be saved by anyone else.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤਾ ਲਏ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥੫॥
naanak. sant bhaavai; taa le ubaar |5|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even he may be saved. ||5||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਇਉ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; iau bilalaae |
ਸਾਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਲਜਾਮ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਐਉ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The slanderer of the Saint bewails like this
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ; ਮਛੁਲੀ ਤੜਫੜਾਇ ॥
jiau jal bihoon; machhulee tarrafarraae |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੜਫਦੀ ਹੈ।
like a fish, out of water, writhing in agony.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਭੂਖਾ; ਨਹੀ ਰਾਜੈ ॥
sant kaa dokhee bhookhaa; nahee raajai |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਭੁਖਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ,
The slanderer of the Saint is hungry and is never satisfied,
ਜਿਉ ਪਾਵਕੁ; ਈਧਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥
jiau paavak; eedhan nahee dhraapai |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗ ਬਾਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦੀ।
as fire is not satisfied by fuel.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਛੁਟੈ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; chhuttai ikelaa |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੱਲਮਕੱਲਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The slanderer of the Saint is left all alone,
ਜਿਉ ਬੂਆੜੁ ਤਿਲੁ; ਖੇਤ ਮਾਹਿ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
jiau booaarr til; khet maeh duhelaa |
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੈਲੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਿਲ ਦੇ ਥੋਬੇ ਦਾ ਦੁਖੀ ਬੂਟਾ।
like the miserable barren sesame stalk abandoned in the field.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; dharam te rehat |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸਿਦਕ-ਈਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of faith.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਸਦ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਹਤ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; sad mithiaa kehat |
ਸਾਧੂ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint constantly lies.
ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ; ਧੁਰਿ ਹੀ ਪਇਆ ॥
kirat nindak kaa; dhur hee peaa |
ਕਲੰਕ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਮੁਢ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
The fate of the slanderer is pre-ordained from the very beginning of time.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ; ਸੋਈ ਥਿਆ ॥੬॥
naanak. jo tis bhaavai; soee thiaa |6|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ (ਹਰੀ) ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, whatever pleases God's Will comes to pass. ||6||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਬਿਗੜ ਰੂਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; bigarr roop hoe jaae |
ਸਾਧੁਆਂ ਤੇ ਊਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਝੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint becomes deformed.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ; ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
sant ke dokhee kau; daragah milai sajaae |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਊਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਜਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint receives his punishment in the Court of the Lord.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਸਦਾ ਸਹਕਾਈਐ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; sadaa sahakaaeeai |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਊਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਮਰਨ-ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint is eternally in limbo.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਨ ਮਰੈ. ਨ ਜੀਵਾਈਐ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; na marai. na jeevaaeeai |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਊਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਲਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
He does not die, but he does not live either.
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ; ਪੁਜੈ ਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
sant ke dokhee kee; pujai na aasaa |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਊਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
The hopes of the slanderer of the Saint are not fulfilled.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ; ਉਠਿ ਚਲੈ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥
sant kaa dokhee; utth chalai niraasaa |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਉਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਂ ਉਮੀਦ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer of the Saint departs disappointed.
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਦੋਖਿ; ਨ ਤਿ੍ਰਸਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
sant kai dokh; na trisattai koe |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਉਝ ਲਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
Slandering the Saint, no one attains satisfaction.
ਜੈਸਾ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇ ॥
jaisaa bhaavai; taisaa koee hoe |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As it pleases the Lord, so do people become;
ਪਇਆ ਕਿਰਤੁ; ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
peaa kirat; na mettai koe |
ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
no one can erase their past actions.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਨੈ; ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥
naanak jaanai; sachaa soe |7|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਉਹ, ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the True Lord alone knows all. ||7||
ਸਭ ਘਟ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ; ਓਹੁ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
sabh ghatt tis ke; ohu karanaihaar |
ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
All hearts are His; He is the Creator.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ; ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥
sadaa sadaa; tis kau namasakaar |
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Forever and ever, I bow to Him in reverence.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ; ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
prabh kee usatat; karahu din raat |
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਕਰ।
Praise God, day and night.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ; ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥
tiseh dhiaavahu; saas giraas |
ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਤੇ ਬੁਰਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
Meditate on Him with every breath and morsel of food.
ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਵਰਤੈ; ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
sabh kachh varatai; tis kaa keea |
ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Everything happens as He wills.
ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰੇ; ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋ ਥੀਆ ॥
jaisaa kare; taisaa ko theea |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As He wills, so people become.
ਅਪਨਾ ਖੇਲੁ; ਆਪਿ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
apanaa khel; aap karanaihaar |
ਆਪਣੀ ਖੇਡ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
He Himself is the play, and He Himself is the actor.
ਦੂਸਰ ਕਉਨੁ; ਕਹੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
doosar kaun; kahai beechaar |
ਹੋਰ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਜਾ ਸੋਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
