ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾ ਕਰੈ; ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਇ ॥
jis no kripaa karai; tis aapan naam dee |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself gives His Name to those, upon whom He bestows His Mercy.
ਬਡਭਾਗੀ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਜਨ ਸੇਇ ॥੮॥੧੩॥
baddabhaagee; naanak. jan see |8|13|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
Very fortunate, O Nanak, are those people. ||8||13||

ਤਜਹੁ ਸਿਆਨਪ. ਸੁਰਿ ਜਨਹੁ; ਸਿਮਰਹੁ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥

ਹੇ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦਿਓ! ਆਪਣੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰੋ।
Give up your cleverness, good people - remember the Lord God, your King!
ਏਕ ਆਸ ਹਰਿ. ਮਨਿ ਰਖਹੁ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਦੂਖੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਇਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੀੜ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!
Enshrine in your heart, your hopes in the One Lord. O Nanak, your pain, doubt and fear shall depart. ||1||

Ashtapadee:
ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ; ਬਿ੍ਰਥੀ ਸਭ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
maanukh kee ttek; brithee sabh jaan |
ਜਾਣ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਬੇਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੈ।
Reliance on mortals is in vain - know this well.
ਦੇਵਨ ਕਉ; ਏਕੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥
devan kau; ekai bhagavaan |
ਕੇਵਲ ਪਰਸਿੱਧ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The Great Giver is the One Lord God.
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਦੀਐ; ਰਹੈ ਅਘਾਇ ॥
jis kai deeai; rahai aghaae |
ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਰੱਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
By His gifts, we are satisfied,
ਬਹੁਰਿ; ਨ ਤਿ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਆਇ ॥
bahur; na trisanaa laagai aae |
ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਰੇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦੀ।
and we suffer from thirst no longer.
ਮਾਰੈ; ਰਾਖੈ ਏਕੋ ਆਪਿ ॥

ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The One Lord Himself destroys and also preserves.
ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੈ; ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
maanukh kai; kichh naahee haath |
ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
Nothing at all is in the hands of mortal beings.
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ; ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
tis kaa hukam boojh; sukh hoe |
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਰਾਮ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Understanding His Order, there is peace.
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ; ਰਖੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਪਰੋਇ ॥
tis kaa naam; rakh kantth paroe |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੰਥਨ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
So take His Name, and wear it as your necklace.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ; ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
simar simar; simar prabh soe |
ਯਾਦ ਕਰ, ਯਾਦ ਕਰ, ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਉਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ,
Remember, remember, remember God in meditation.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਬਿਘਨੁ. ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
naanak; bighan. na laagai koe |1|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇੰਝ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ।
O Nanak, no obstacle shall stand in your way. ||1||
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ; ਕਰਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥
ausatat man meh; kar nirankaar |
ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਤਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰ।
Praise the Formless Lord in your mind.
ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਸਤਿ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥
kar man mere; sat biauhaar |
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਦਾ ਕਾਰ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ।
O my mind, make this your true occupation.
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰਸਨਾ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਉ ॥
niramal rasanaa; amrit peeo |
ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗੀ,
Let your tongue become pure, drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar.
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ; ਕਰਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥
sadaa suhelaa; kar lehi jeeo |
ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
Your soul shall be forever peaceful.
ਨੈਨਹੁ ਪੇਖੁ; ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
nainahu pekh; tthaakur kaa rang |
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਕਉਤਕ ਦੇਖ।
With your eyes, see the wondrous play of your Lord and Master.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ; ਬਿਨਸੈ ਸਭ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
saadhasang; binasai sabh sang |
ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
In the Company of the Holy, all other associations vanish.
ਚਰਨ ਚਲਉ; ਮਾਰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
charan chlau; maarag gobind |
ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੁਰ।
With your feet, walk in the Way of the Lord.
ਮਿਟਹਿ ਪਾਪ; ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਬਿੰਦ ॥
mitteh paap; japeeai har bind |
ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Sins are washed away, chanting the Lord's Name, even for a moment.
ਕਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਮ; ਸ੍ਰਵਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ॥
kar har karam; sravan har kathaa |
ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਸੁਣ।
So do the Lord's Work, and listen to the Lord's Sermon.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਨਕ; ਊਜਲ ਮਥਾ ॥੨॥
har daragah naanak; aoojal mathaa |2|
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!
In the Lord's Court, O Nanak, your face shall be radiant. ||2||
ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਤੇ ਜਨ; ਜਗ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
baddabhaagee te jan; jag maeh |
ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ,
Very fortunate are those humble beings in this world,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ; ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹਿ ॥
sadaa sadaa; har ke gun gaeh |
ਜੋ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
who sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, forever and ever.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ; ਜੋ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥
raam naam; jo kareh beechaar |
ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those who dwell upon the Lord's Name,
ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਗਨੀ; ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
se dhanavant ganee; sansaar |
ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੌਲਤਮੰਦ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
are the most wealthy and prosperous in the world.
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ; ਬੋਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਖੀ ॥
man tan mukh; boleh har mukhee |
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ, ਦੇਹਿ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰੋਮਣੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those who speak of the Supreme Lord in thought, word and deed
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ; ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੀ ॥
sadaa sadaa; jaanahu te sukhee |
ਸਮਝ ਲਓ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਨ।
know that they are peaceful and happy, forever and ever.
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ; ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥
eko ek; ek pachhaanai |
ਜੋ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਅਦੁਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਝਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who recognizes the One and only Lord as One,
ਇਤ ਉਤ ਕੀ; ਓਹੁ ਸੋਝੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
eit ut kee; ohu sojhee jaanai |
ਉਹ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
understands this world and the next.
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ; ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
naam sang; jis kaa man maaniaa |
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਲ ਮਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
One whose mind accepts the Company of the Naam,
ਨਾਨਕ; ਤਿਨਹਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥
naanak; tineh niranjan jaaniaa |3|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ-ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
the Name of the Lord, O Nanak, knows the Immaculate Lord. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ; ਆਪਨ ਆਪੁ ਸੁਝੈ ॥
gur prasaad; aapan aap sujhai |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ,
By Guru's Grace, one understands himself;
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ; ਤਿ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ ॥
tis kee jaanahu; trisanaa bujhai |
ਜਾਣ ਲਉ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
know that then, his thirst is quenched.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ; ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਕਹਤ ॥
saadhasang; har har jas kehat |
ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
In the Company of the Holy, one chants the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸਰਬ ਰੋਗ ਤੇ; ਓਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਰਹਤ ॥
sarab rog te; ohu har jan rehat |
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Such a devotee of the Lord is free of all disease.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ; ਕੇਵਲ ਬਖੵਾਨੁ ॥
anadin keeratan; keval bakhayaan |
ਜੋ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ, ਸਿਰਫ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਹੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Night and day, sing the Kirtan, the Praises of the One Lord.
ਗਿ੍ਰਹਸਤ ਮਹਿ; ਸੋਈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੁ ॥
grihasat meh; soee nirabaan |
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the midst of your household, remain balanced and unattached.
ਏਕ ਊਪਰਿ; ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
ek aoopar; jis jan kee aasaa |
ਜਿਸ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਉਮੀਦ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ,
One who places his hopes in the One Lord
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਟੀਐ; ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥
tis kee katteeai; jam kee faasaa |
ਉਸ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
the noose of Death is cut away from his neck.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ; ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਭੂਖ ॥
paarabraham kee; jis man bhookh |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭੁਖ ਹੈ,
One whose mind hungers for the Supreme Lord God,
ਨਾਨਕ. ਤਿਸਹਿ; ਨ ਲਾਗਹਿ ਦੂਖ ॥੪॥
naanak. tiseh; na laageh dookh |4|
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕੋਈ ਪੀੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦੀ।
O Nanak, shall not suffer pain. ||4||
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ; ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
jis kau har prabh; man chit aavai |
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who focuses his conscious mind on the Lord God
ਸੋ ਸੰਤੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ; ਨਹੀ ਡੁਲਾਵੈ ॥
so sant suhelaa; nahee ddulaavai |
ਉਹ, ਸਾਧੂ, ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਕਡੋਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦਾ।
- that Saint is at peace; he does not waver.
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ; ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
jis prabh apunaa; kirapaa karai |
ਉਹ ਦਾਸ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Those unto whom God has granted His Grace
ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ; ਕਹੁ ਕਿਸ ਤੇ ਡਰੈ ॥
so sevak; kahu kis te ddarai |
ਦੱਸੋ ਖਾਂ, ਉਸ ਕਿਸ ਕੋਲੋ ਭੈ ਖਾਵੇ?
who do those servants need to fear?
ਜੈਸਾ ਸਾ; ਤੈਸਾ ਦਿ੍ਰਸਟਾਇਆ ॥
jaisaa saa; taisaa drisattaaeaa |
ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗ੍ਹ੍ਰਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As God is, so does He appear;
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਮਹਿ; ਆਪਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
apune kaaraj meh; aap samaaeaa |
ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
in His Own creation, He Himself is pervading.
ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਤ; ਸੋਧਤ ਸੀਝਿਆ ॥
sodhat sodhat; sodhat seejhiaa |
ਭਾਲਦਾ, ਭਾਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Searching, searching, searching, and finally, success!
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ; ਤਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਬੂਝਿਆ ॥
gur prasaad; tat sabh boojhiaa |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, the essence of all reality is understood.
ਜਬ ਦੇਖਉ; ਤਬ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਮੂਲੁ ॥
jab dekhau; tab sabh kichh mool |
ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਵਸਤੂ ਦੀ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Wherever I look, there I see Him, at the root of all things.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੋ ਸੂਖਮੁ; ਸੋਈ ਅਸਥੂਲੁ ॥੫॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬਾਰੀਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, He is the subtle, and He is also the manifest. ||5||
ਨਹ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਨਮੈ; ਨਹ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਰੈ ॥
neh kichh janamai; neh kichh marai |
ਨਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nothing is born, and nothing dies.
ਆਪਨ ਚਲਿਤੁ; ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰੈ ॥
aapan chalit; aap hee karai |
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself stages His own drama.
ਆਵਨੁ ਜਾਵਨੁ; ਦਿ੍ਰਸਟਿ ਅਨਦਿ੍ਰਸਟਿ ॥
aavan jaavan; drisatt anadrisatt |
ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਜਾਣ, ਪਰਤੱਖ ਤੇ ਗੁਪਤ,
Coming and going, seen and unseen,
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ; ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਸਿ੍ਰਸਟਿ ॥
aagiaakaaree; dhaaree sabh srisatt |
ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਜਹਾਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫਰਮਾਂਬਰਦਾਰ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
all the world is obedient to His Will.
