ਸਚਿਆਰ ਸਿਖ. ਬਹਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਘਾਲਨਿ; ਕੂੜਿਆਰ. ਨ ਲਭਨੀ ਕਿਤੈ ਥਾਇ ਭਾਲੇ ॥
sachiaar sikh. beh satigur paas ghaalan; koorriaar. na labhanee kitai thaae bhaale |
ਸੱਚੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਝੂਠਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੂੰਡ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।
The truthful Sikhs sit by the True Guru's side and serve Him. The false ones search, but find no place of rest.
ਜਿਨਾ. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਆਖਿਆ. ਸੁਖਾਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ; ਤਿਨਾ ਮੁਹ ਭਲੇਰੇ, ਫਿਰਹਿ ਦਯਿ ਗਾਲੇ ॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਭ੍ਰਸ਼ਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਫਿਟਕਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who are not pleased with the Words of the True Guru - their faces are cursed, and they wander around, condemned by God.
ਜਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਹੀ, ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ; ਸੇ ਕਿਚਰਕੁ ਵੇਰਾਈਅਨਿ, ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੇਤਾਲੇ ॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਭੂਤਨੇ, ਕਿੰਨੇ ਚਿਰ ਤਾਈਂ ਪਰਚਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ?
Those who do not have the Love of the Lord within their hearts - how long can those demonic, self-willed manmukhs be consoled?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੈ. ਸੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨੁ ਥਾਇ ਰਖੈ; ਓਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ. ਆਪਣੀ ਵਥੁ ਨਾਲੇ ॥

ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਥ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਖਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who meets the True Guru, keeps his mind in its own place; he spends only his own assets.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਇਕਨਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੇਵੈ; ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ. ਵਖਿ ਕਢੈ ਠਗਵਾਲੇ ॥੧॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ, ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕਈਆਂ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਅਲੱਗ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O servant Nanak, some are united with the Guru; to some, the Lord grants peace, while others - deceitful cheats - suffer in isolation. ||1||

ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Fourth Mehl:
ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ; ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਦਯਿ ਆਦੇ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
jinaa andar naam nidhaan har; tin ke kaaj day aade raas |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਆਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who have the treasure of the Lord's Name deep within their hearts - the Lord resolves their affairs.
ਤਿਨ ਚੂਕੀ ਮੁਹਤਾਜੀ ਲੋਕਨ ਕੀ; ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਗੁ ਕਰਿ ਬੈਠਾ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
tin chookee muhataajee lokan kee; har prabh ang kar baitthaa paas |
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਬਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They are no longer subservient to other people; the Lord God sits by them, at their side.
ਜਾਂ ਕਰਤਾ ਵਲਿ. ਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਲਿ; ਸਭਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥
jaan karataa val. taa sabh ko val; sabh darasan dekh kareh saabaas |
ਜਦ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਫਰੀਨ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the Creator is on their side, then everyone is on their side. Beholding their vision, everyone applauds them.
ਸਾਹੁ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ; ਸਭਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਆਇ ਕਰਹਿ ਰਹਰਾਸਿ ॥

ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ, ਮੂਹਰੇ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Kings and emperors are all created by the Lord; they all come and bow in reverence to the Lord's humble servant.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ; ਹਰਿ ਵਡਾ ਸੇਵਿ. ਅਤੁਲੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
gur poore kee vaddee vaddiaaee; har vaddaa sev. atul sukh paaeaa |
ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ। ਮਹਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਅਮਾਪ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Great is the greatness of the Perfect Guru. Serving the Great Lord, I have obtained immeasurable peace.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੀਆ. ਹਰਿ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ; ਨਿਤ ਬਖਸੇ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ॥

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਦਾਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਿਨ-ਬ-ਦਿਨ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord has bestowed this eternal gift upon the Perfect Guru; His blessings increase day by day.
ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ. ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ; ਸੋ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਪਚਾਇਆ ॥
koee nindak. vaddiaaee dekh na sakai; so karatai aap pachaaeaa |
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਖੁਦ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
The slanderer, who cannot endure His greatness, is destroyed by the Creator Himself.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ. ਗੁਣ ਬੋਲੈ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੇ; ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥

ਗੋਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਰਤੀਆਂ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
Servant Nanak chants the Glorious Praises of the Creator, who protects His devotees forever. ||2||

ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ; ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਣਾ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਭਾਰਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ।
You, O Lord and Master, are inaccessible and merciful; You are the Great Giver, All-knowing.
ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ. ਮੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਕੋ ਦਿਸਿ, ਨ ਆਵਈ; ਤੂਹੈਂ ਸੁਘੜੁ. ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
tudh jevadd. mai hor ko dis, na aavee; toohain sugharr. merai man bhaanaa |
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਜ਼ਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੈ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
I can see no other as great as You; O Lord of Wisdom, You are pleasing to my mind.
ਮੋਹੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਆਵਦਾ; ਸਭੁ ਚਲਣਹਾਰਾ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
mohu kuttanb dis aavadaa; sabh chalanahaaraa aavan jaanaa |
ਟੱਬਰ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ, ਜੋ ਨਜ਼ਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਛਿਨ ਭੰਗਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੈ।
Emotional attachment to your family and everything you see is temporary, coming and going.
ਜੋ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਚੇ. ਹੋਰਤੁ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਦੇ; ਸੇ ਕੂੜਿਆਰ, ਕੂੜਾ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਣਾ ॥
jo bin sache. horat chit laaeide; se koorriaar, koorraa tin maanaa |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਝੂਠੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ।
Those who attach their consciousness to anything except the True Lord are false, and false is their pride.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ; ਬਿਨੁ ਸਚੇ. ਪਚਿ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਏ ਅਜਾਣਾ ॥੧੦॥

ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਸੜ ਗਲ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, meditate on the True Lord; without the True Lord, the ignorant rot away and putrefy to death. ||10||

ਸਲੋਕ ਚੋਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, Fourth Mehl:
ਅਗੋ ਦੇ ਸਤ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਦਿਚੈ; ਪਿਛੋ ਦੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੰਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
ago de sat bhaau na dichai; pichho de aakhiaa, kam na aavai |
ਤੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਮਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ।
At first, he did not show respect to the Guru; later, he offered excuses, but it is no use.
ਅਧ ਵਿਚਿ ਫਿਰੈ. ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ; ਗਲੀ. ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

ਬਦਬਖਤ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਅੱਧ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੂੰਹ-ਜਬਾਨੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
The wretched, self-willed manmukhs wander around and are stuck mid-way; how can they find peace by mere words?
ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਹੀ. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ; ਸੁ ਕੂੜੀ ਆਵੈ ਕੂੜੀ ਜਾਵੈ ॥

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who have no love for the True Guru within their hearts come with falsehood, and leave with falsehood.
ਜੇ ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਤਾ; ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ॥
je kripaa kare meraa har prabh karataa; taan satigur paarabraham nadaree aavai |
ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰੇ, ਤਦ, ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਤਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
When my Lord God, the Creator, grants His Grace, then they come to see the True Guru as the Supreme Lord God.
ਤਾ ਅਪਿਉ ਪੀਵੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇਰਾ; ਸਭੁ ਕਾੜਾ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਵੈ ॥
taa apiau peevai sabad gur keraa; sabh kaarraa andesaa bharam chukaavai |
ਉਹ ਤਦ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਲਨ, ਫਿਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Then, they drink in the Nectar, the Word of the Guru's Shabad; all burning, anxiety, and doubts are eliminated.
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ; ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
sadaa anand rahai din raatee; jan naanak. anadin har gun gaavai |1|
ਦਿਨ ਰੈਣ, ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਸਤਤੀਆਂ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ!
They remain in ecstasy forever, day and night; O servant Nanak, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, night and day. ||1||

ਚੋਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਸਿਖੁ ਅਖਾਏ; ਸੁ ਭਲਕੇ ਉਠਿ. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੇ, ਭਲਕੇ ਪਰਭਾਤੀ; ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
audam kare, bhalake parabhaatee; isanaan kare amrit sar naavai |
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੜਕੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ, ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਘਾਰਸ ਦੇ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਟੁੱਬੀ ਲਾਉਣ ਉਚਿੱਤ ਹੈ।
Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar.
ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਗੁਰੂ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪੈ; ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਦੋਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਤਾਬੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ, ਕੁਕਰਮ ਤੇ ਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased.
ਫਿਰਿ ਚੜੈ ਦਿਵਸੁ. ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵੈ; ਬਹਦਿਆ ਉਠਦਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥

ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਹਿੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਉਠਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਜੋ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ; ਸੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ. ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮਰੀਦ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਣ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food - that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru's Mind.
