ਜਿਨਾ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ. ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ; ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥
jinaa saas giraas. na visarai; se poore purakh paradhaan |
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਸਿਧ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਨ।
Those who do not forget the Lord, with each and every breath and morsel of food, are the perfect and famous persons.
ਕਰਮੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ; ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਗੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ।
By His Grace they find the True Guru; night and day, they meditate.
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਾ; ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
tin kee sangat mil rahaa; daragah paaee maan |
ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I join the society of those persons, and in so doing, I am honored in the Court of the Lord.
ਸਉਦੇ. ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਉਚਰਹਿ; ਉਠਦੇ ਭੀ ਵਾਹੁ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥
saude. vaahu vaahu uchareh; utthade bhee vaahu karen |
ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
While asleep, they chant, "Waaho! Waaho!", and while awake, they chant, "Waaho!" as well.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ; ਜਿ. ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਸੰਮਾਲੇਨਿ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਜੋ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, radiant are the faces of those, who rise up early each day, and dwell upon the Lord. ||1||

ਚੋਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Fourth Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਆਪਣਾ; ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥

ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
Serving his True Guru, one obtains the Naam, the Name of the Infinite Lord.
ਭਉਜਲਿ ਡੁਬਦਿਆ ਕਢਿ ਲਏ; ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰੇ. ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥
bhaujal ddubadiaa kadt le; har daat kare. daataar |
ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
The drowning person is lifted up and out of the terrifying world-ocean; the Great Giver gives the gift of the Lord's Name.
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਹੈ; ਜਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥
dhan dhan se saah hai; ji naam kareh vaapaar |
ਮੁਬਾਰਕ, ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Blessed, blessed are those bankers who trade the Naam.
ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਸਿਖ ਆਵਦੇ; ਸਬਦਿ ਲਘਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
vanajaare sikh aavade; sabad laghaavanahaar |
ਸਿੱਖ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Sikhs, the traders come, and through the Word of His Shabad, they are carried across.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾ ਭਈ; ਤਿਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
jan naanak. jin kau kripaa bhee; tin seviaa sirajanahaar |2|
ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੈ।
O servant Nanak, they alone serve the Creator Lord, who are blessed by His Grace. ||2||

Pauree:
ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਭਗਤ ਹਹਿ; ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਜਿਨੀ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥
sach sache ke jan bhagat heh; sach sachaa jinee araadhiaa |
ਜੋ ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਸਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਵਫਾਦਾਰ ਗੋਲੇ ਹਨ।
Those who truly worship and adore the True Lord, are truly the humble devotees of the True Lord.
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਜਿ ਢੰਢੋਲਿਆ; ਤਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਲਾਧਿਆ ॥
jin guramukh khoj dtandtoliaa; tin andarahu hee sach laadhiaa |
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਜੋ ਪੂਰੀ ਖੋਜ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those Gurmukhs who search and seek, find the True One within themselves.
ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਸੇਵਿਆ; ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ. ਤਿਨੀ ਸਾਧਿਆ ॥
sach saahib sach jinee seviaa; kaal kanttak maar. tinee saadhiaa |
ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕੰਡਿਆਲੀ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਤੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who truly serve their True Lord and Master, overwhelm and conquer Death, the torturer.
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਭ ਦੂ ਵਡਾ ਹੈ; ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ. ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਲਾਧਿਆ ॥
sach sachaa sabh doo vaddaa hai; sach sevan. se sach ralaadhiaa |
ਨਿਸਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The True One is truly the greatest of all; those who serve the True One are blended with the True One.
ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਨੋ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ; ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੇਵਿ ਫਲਾਧਿਆ ॥੨੨॥
sach sache no saabaas hai; sach sachaa sev falaadhiaa |22|
ਧੰਨਤਾਯੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸਚਿਆਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਂ ਸਚਿਆਰ। ਸਚਿਆ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਸੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਫਲਦਾ ਫੁਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Blessed and acclaimed is the Truest of the True; serving the Truest of the True, one blossoms forth in fruition. ||22||
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੪ ॥

ਸਲੋਕ ਚੋਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, Fourth Mehl:
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਹੈ; ਨਾਮਹੀਣ ਭਰਮਾਇ ॥
manamukh praanee mugadh hai; naamaheen bharamaae |
ਮੁਰਖ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਉਹ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The self-willed manmukh is foolish; he wanders around without the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਮਨੂਆ ਨਾ ਟਿਕੈ; ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੂਨੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
bin gur. manooaa naa ttikai; fir fir joonee paae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਥਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Guru, his mind is not held steady, and he is reincarnated, over and over again.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਹਿ; ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥
har prabh aap deaal hohi; taan satigur miliaa aae |
ਜਦ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਈਂ ਖੁਦ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
But when the Lord God Himself becomes merciful to him, then the True Guru comes to meet him.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ; ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
jan naanak. naam salaeh too; janam maran dukh jaae |1|
ਹੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਵੇ।
O servant Nanak, praise the Naam; the pains of birth and death shall come to an end. ||1||

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ; ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

ਬੜੇ ਪਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I praise my Guru in so many ways, with joyful love and affection.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਤਾ; ਰਖਿਆ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਇ ॥
satigur setee man rataa; rakhiaa banat banaae |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
My mind is imbued with the True Guru; He has preserved the make of its making.
ਜਿਹਵਾ. ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਨ ਰਜਈ; ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
jihavaa. saalaeh na rajee; har preetam chit laae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਰੀਫ ਉਚਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
My tongue is not satisfied by praising Him; He has linked my consciousness with the Lord, my Beloved.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਭੁਖ ਹੈ; ਮਨੁ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਤੈ. ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਖਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak. naavai kee man bhukh hai; man tripatai. har ras khaae |2|
ਨਾਨਕ! ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਦਾਂ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, my mind hungers for the Name of the Lord; my mind is satisfied, tasting the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2||

ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਬਣਾਈਆ ॥
sach sachaa kudarat jaaneeai; din raatee jin banaaeea |
ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੈਣ ਸਾਜੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿਸਚੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਪਾਰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Lord is truly known for His all-powerful creative nature; He fashioned the days and the nights.
ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ; ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ॥
so sach salaahee sadaa sadaa; sach sache keea vaddiaaeea |
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਚੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕੀਰਤੀਆਂ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੀਆਂ।
I praise that True Lord, forever and ever; True is the glorious greatness of the True Lord.
ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ. ਸਲਾਹ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ; ਕੀਮਤਿ. ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈਆ ॥
saalaahee sach. salaah sach sach; keemat. kinai na paaeea |
ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਪਮਾ-ਯੋਗ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ। ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਮੁਲ ਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਾ।
True are the Praises of the Praiseworthy True Lord; the value of the True Lord cannot be appraised.
ਜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ; ਤਾ ਹਾਜਰੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਈਆ ॥
jaa miliaa pooraa satiguroo; taa haajar nadaree aaeea |
ਜਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦ ਐਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਦਿਸ ਪੈਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ।
When someone meets the Perfect True Guru, then His Sublime Presence comes to be seen.
ਸਚੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ; ਤਿਨਾ ਭੁਖਾ ਸਭਿ ਗਵਾਈਆ ॥੨੩॥
sach guramukh jinee salaahiaa; tinaa bhukhaa sabh gavaaeea |23|
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ, ਜੋ ਸਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Those Gurmukhs who praise the True Lord - all their hunger is gone. ||23||
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੪ ॥

Salok, Fourth Mehl:
ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਖੋਜੇਦਿਆ; ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਧਾ ਲੋੜਿ ॥
mai man tan khoj khojediaa; so prabh ladhaa lorr |
ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਢੁੰਡ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਲਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁਦਾ ਸਾਂ।
Searching and examining my mind and body, I have found that God, whom I longed for.
ਵਿਸਟੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੈ ਪਾਇਆ; ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਜੋੜਿ ॥੧॥

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਚੋਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
I have found the Guru, the Divine Intermediary, who has united me with the Lord God. ||1||

ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਪਕੜ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਹਾਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਡੋਰਾ ਹੈ।
One who is attached to Maya is totally blind and deaf.
ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਸੁਣਈ; ਬਹੁ ਰੋਲ ਘਚੋਲਾ ॥
sabad na sunee; bahu rol ghacholaa |
ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਸ਼ੋਰ-ਸ਼ਰਾਬਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He does not listen to the Word of the Shabad; he makes a great uproar and tumult.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ; ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
guramukh jaapai; sabad liv laae |
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Gurmukhs chant and meditate on the Shabad, and lovingly center their consciousness on it.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨੇ; ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
har naam sun mane; har naam samaae |
ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They hear and believe in the Name of the Lord; they are absorbed in the Name of the Lord.
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ; ਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
jo tis bhaavai; su kare karaaeaa |
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever pleases God, He causes that to be done.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਵਜਦਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
naanak; vajadaa jant vajaaeaa |2|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੀਵ ਰੂਪੀ ਵਾਜਾ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, human beings are the instruments which vibrate as God plays them. ||2||
