ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਿਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਝੂਠੀ ਬਣਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਲੂ ਕਰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
By Your Power, You have set this false contrivance in motion. ||2||
ਕਿਨਹੂ; ਲਾਖ ਪਾਂਚ ਕੀ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
kinahoo; laakh paanch kee joree |
ਕਈ ਪੰਜ ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some collect hundreds of thousands of dollars,
ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ; ਗਗਰੀਆ ਫੋਰੀ ॥੩॥
ant kee baar; gagareea foree |3|
ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਘੜਾ (ਸਰੀਰ) ਫੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
but in the end, the pitcher of the body bursts. ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ; ਇਕ ਨੀਵ ਉਸਾਰੀ ॥
keh kabeer; ik neev usaaree |
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿ ਇਕ ਬੁਨਿਆਦ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ,
Says Kabeer, that single foundation which you have laid
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ; ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੯॥੬੦॥
khin meh binas jaae; ahankaaree |4|1|9|60|
ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗੀ, ਹੇ ਮਗਰੂਰ ਬੰਦੇ।
will be destroyed in an instant - you are so egotistical. ||4||1||9||60||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ,
Just as Dhroo and Prahlaad meditated on the Lord,
ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ; ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੧॥
dhraoo prahilaad; japio har jaise |1|
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਧਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਸੀ।
So should you meditate on the Lord, O my soul. ||1||
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ; ਭਰੋਸੇ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
deen deaal; bharose tere |
ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ! ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਧਕੀਨ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ,
O Lord, Merciful to the meek, I have placed my faith in You;
ਸਭੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ; ਚੜਾਇਆ ਬੇੜੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਤੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
along with all my family, I have come aboard Your boat. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ; ਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਵੈ ॥
jaa tis bhaavai; taa hukam manaavai |
ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
When it is pleasing to Him, then He inspires us to obey the Hukam of His Command.
ਇਸ ਬੇੜੇ ਕਉ; ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
eis berre kau; paar laghaavai |2|
ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He causes this boat to cross over. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ; ਐਸੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥
gur parasaad; aisee budh samaanee |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਐਸੀ ਸਮਝ ਟਿਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
By Guru's Grace, such understanding is infused into me;
ਚੂਕਿ ਗਈ; ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
chook gee; fir aavan jaanee |3|
ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਮੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
my comings and goings in reincarnation have ended. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ; ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥
kahu kabeer; bhaj saarigapaanee |
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਣਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
Says Kabeer, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth.
ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ; ਸਭ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦॥੬੧॥

ਇਸ ਲੋਕ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ।
In this world, in the world beyond and everywhere, He alone is the Giver. ||4||2||10||61||

ਜੋਨਿ ਛਾਡਿ; ਜਉ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਓ ॥

ਗਰਭ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He leaves the womb, and comes into the world;
ਲਾਗਤ ਪਵਨ; ਖਸਮੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
laagat pavan; khasam bisaraaeo |1|
ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
as soon as the air touches him, he forgets his Lord and Master. ||1||
ਜੀਅਰਾ; ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨਾ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jeearaa; har ke gunaa gaau |1| rahaau |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
O my soul, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਮਹਿ; ਉਰਧ ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
garabh jon meh; uradh tap karataa |
ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਬੱਚੇਦਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੁੱਠਾ ਲਟਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੈਂ,
You were upside-down, living in the womb; you generated the intense meditative heat of 'tapas'.
ਤਉ ਜਠਰ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ; ਰਹਤਾ ॥੨॥
tau jatthar agan meh; rahataa |2|
ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਪੇਟ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਿਆਂ ਸੈਂ।
Then, you escaped the fire of the belly. ||2||
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ; ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ॥
lakh chauraaseeh jon; bhram aaeo |
ਚੁਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
After wandering through 8.4 million incarnations, you came.
ਅਬ ਕੇ ਛੁਟਕੇ; ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
ab ke chhuttake; tthaur na tthaaeo |3|
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾ ਗਿਆ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਜਾਂ ਘਰ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਣਾ।
If you stumble and fall now, you shall find no home or place of rest. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ; ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ,
Says Kabeer, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth.
ਆਵਤ ਦੀਸੈ; ਜਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੧॥੬੨॥
aavat deesai; jaat na jaanee |4|1|11|62|
ਜੋ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
He is not seen to be coming or going; He is the Knower of all. ||4||1||11||62||

ਸੁਰਗ ਬਾਸੁ. ਨ ਬਾਛੀਐ; ਡਰੀਐ ਨ. ਨਰਕਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
surag baas. na baachheeai; ddareeai na. narak nivaas |
ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸੇਬੇ ਲਈ ਤਾਂਘ ਨਾਂ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਣੋਂ ਭੈ ਨਾਂ ਕਰ।
Don't wish for a home in heaven, and don't be afraid to live in hell.
ਹੋਨਾ ਹੈ. ਸੋ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ; ਮਨਹਿ. ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ਆਸ ॥੧॥
honaa hai. so hoee hai; maneh. na keejai aas |1|
ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਿਸਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਉਮੀਦ ਨ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ।
Whatever will be will be, so don't get your hopes up in your mind. ||1||
ਰਮਈਆ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈਐ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ,
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord,
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ; ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa te paaeeai; param nidhaan |1| rahaau |
ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
from whom the most excellent treasure is obtained. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਆ ਜਪੁ ਕਿਆ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੋ; ਕਿਆ ਬਰਤੁ ਕਿਆ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
kiaa jap kiaa tap sanjamo; kiaa barat kiaa isanaan |
ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਪਾਠ ਦਾ, ਕੀ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਰਿਆਜ਼ਤ ਦਾ, ਕੀ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਾ-ਅਹਾਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦਾ,
What good is chanting, penance or self-mortification? What good is fasting or cleansing baths,
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ. ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀਐ; ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੨॥
jab lag. jugat na jaaneeai; bhaau bhagat bhagavaan |2|
ਜਦ ਤਾਂਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ?
unless you know the way to worship the Lord God with loving devotion? ||2||
ਸੰਪੈ ਦੇਖਿ. ਨ ਹਰਖੀਐ; ਬਿਪਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ. ਨ ਰੋਇ ॥
sanpai dekh. na harakheeai; bipat dekh. na roe |
ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਕੇ ਨਾਂ ਬੈਠ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਨਾਂ ਕਰ।
Don't feel so delighted at the sight of wealth, and don't weep at the sight of suffering and adversity.
ਜਿਉ ਸੰਪੈ. ਤਿਉ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਹੈ; ਬਿਧ ਨੇ ਰਚਿਆ. ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
jiau sanpai. tiau bipat hai; bidh ne rachiaa. so hoe |3|
ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੀ ਕੰਗਾਲਤਾ ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
As is wealth, so is adversity; whatever the Lord proposes, comes to pass. ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ. ਅਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ; ਸੰਤਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥
keh kabeer. ab jaaniaa; santan ridai majhaar |
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
Says Kabeer, now I know that the Lord dwells within the hearts of His Saints;
ਸੇਵਕ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਲੇ; ਜਿਹ ਘਟ ਬਸੈ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥੬੩॥
sevak so sevaa bhale; jih ghatt basai muraar |4|1|12|63|
ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
that servant performs the best service, whose heart is filled with the Lord. ||4||1||12||63||

ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਬੋਝ ਤੂੰ ਚੁਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
O my mind, even if you carry someone's burden, they don't belong to you.
ਬਿਰਖ ਬਸੇਰੋ ਪੰਖਿ ਕੋ; ਤੈਸੋ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
birakh basero pankh ko; taiso ihu sansaar |1|
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੰਛੀ ਦਾ ਰੁਖ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਜਹਾਨ ਹੈ।
This world is like the perch of the bird on the tree. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਰੇ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੈਂ ਪਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
I drink in the sublime essence of the Lord.
ਜਿਹ ਰਸ; ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਏ ਰਸ ਅਉਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jih ras; bisar ge ras aaur |1| rahaau |
ਜਿਸ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਸੁਆਦ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
With the taste of this essence, I have forgotten all other tastes. ||1||Pause||
ਅਉਰ ਮੁਏ. ਕਿਆ ਰੋਈਐ; ਜਉ ਆਪਾ. ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਇ ॥
aaur mue. kiaa roeeai; jau aapaa. thir na rahaae |
ਜਦ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਮੁਸਤਕਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਉਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰੀਏ?
Why should we weep at the death of others, when we ourselves are not permanent?
ਜੋ ਉਪਜੈ. ਸੋ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਹੈ; ਦੁਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਰੋਵੈ ਬਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
jo upajai. so binas hai; dukh kar rovai balaae |2|
ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਰੋਣ।
Whoever is born shall pass away; why should we cry out in grief? ||2||
ਜਹ ਕੀ ਉਪਜੀ. ਤਹ ਰਚੀ; ਪੀਵਤ. ਮਰਦਨ ਲਾਗ ॥
jeh kee upajee. teh rachee; peevat. maradan laag |
ਜਦ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
We are re-absorbed into the One from whom we came; drink in the Lord's essence, and remain attached to Him.

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Says Kabeer, my consciousness is filled with thoughts of remembrance of the Lord; I have become detached from the world. ||3||2||13||64||

ਹਊਕੇ ਭਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਥਰੂ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਤਨੀ ਰਾਹ ਤਕਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The bride gazes at the path, and sighs with tearful eyes.
