Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਚਉਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Raag Aasaa, Second House, Fourth Mehl:

ਕਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Some form alliances with friends, children and siblings.

ਕਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੁੜਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਜੁਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Some form alliances with in-laws and relatives.

ਕਈ ਸਵੈ-ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਚਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Some form alliances with chiefs and leaders for their own selfish motives.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪੱਖੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।

My alliance is with the Lord, who is pervading everywhere. ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ!

I have formed my alliance with the Lord; the Lord is my only support.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਮੁਹਾਜ਼ ਜਾਂ ਹਮ-ਖਿਆਲ ਜਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Other than the Lord, I have no other faction or alliance; I sing of the countless and endless Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those with whom you form alliances, shall perish.

ਕੂੜੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Making false alliances, the mortals repent and regret in the end.

ਜੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੂੜ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਥਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ।

Those who practice falsehood shall not last.

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ।

I have formed my alliance with the Lord; there is no one more powerful than Him. ||2||

ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਹਨ।

All these alliances are mere extensions of the love of Maya.

ਮੂਰਖ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਦੇ ਝਗੜਦੇ ਹਨ।

Only fools argue over Maya.

ਉਹ ਜੰਮਣ-ਮਰਣ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੂਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਖੇਡ ਹਾਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

They are born, and they die, and they lose the game of life in the gamble.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ-ਚੰਨ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

My alliance is with the Lord, who embellishes all, in this world and the next. ||3||

ਕਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਸਾਦ ਪੰਜ ਤਸਕਰ ਖੜੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the five thieves instigate alliances and conflicts.

ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸ, ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਲਾਲਚ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and self-conceit have increased.

ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who is blessed by the Lord's Grace, joins the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

My alliance is with the Lord, who has destroyed all these alliances. ||4||

ਝੂਠੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮੌਹ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

In the false love of duality, people sit and form alliances.

ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

They complain about other peoples' faults, while their own self-conceit only increases.

ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਉਹ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

As they plant, so shall they harvest.

ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Servant Nanak has joined the Lord's alliance of Dharma, which shall conquer the whole world. ||5||2||54||

ਆਸਾ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Aasaa, Fourth Mehl:

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਨਾਮ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Constantly listening to the Ambrosial Gurbani in the heart, it becomes pleasing to the mind.

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਨਾਂ-ਜਾਣਿਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Through Gurbani, the Incomprehensible Lord is comprehended. ||1||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀਓ ਭੈਣੋਂ!

As Gurmukh, listen to the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O my sisters.

ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਧਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੋ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

The One Lord is pervading and permeating deep within the heart; with your mouth, recite the Ambrosial Hymns of the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਉਂਦਾਸੀ ਹੈ।

My mind and body are filled with divine love, and great sadness.

ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ-ਸਰੂਪ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

By great good fortune, I have obtained the True Guru, the Primal Being. ||2||

ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਮਗਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

In the love of duality, the mortals wander through poisonous Maya.

ਬਦਕਿਸਮਤ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।

The unfortunate ones do not meet the True Guru. ||3||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਆਬਿ-ਹਯਾਤ ਛਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself inspires us to drink in the Lord's Ambrosial Elixir.

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਨਾਨਕ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Through the Perfect Guru, O Nanak, the Lord is obtained. ||4||3||55||

ਆਸਾ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Aasaa, Fourth Mehl:

ਮੈਂਡੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

The Love of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of my mind and body.

ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਜੌਹਰ ਹੈ।

I chant the Naam; the Naam is the essence of peace. ||1||

ਨਾਮ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਮੈਡੇਂ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਅਤੇ ਸਾਥੀਓ।

So chant the Naam, O my friends and companions.

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Without the Naam, there is nothing else for me. By great good fortune, as Gurmukh, I have received the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।

Without the Naam, I cannot live.

ਭਾਰੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

By great good fortune, the Gurmukhs obtain the Naam. ||2||

ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ ਹੈ।

Those who lack the Naam have their faces rubbed in the dirt of Maya.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਧਿਰਕਾਰਯੋਗ, ਧਿਰਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ।

Without the Naam, cursed, cursed are their lives. ||3||
