ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਤਵਾਲਾ, ਮਤਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

I am intoxicated, intoxicated with the Love of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ) ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖ਼ੈਰਾਤ ਵਜੋ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

I drink it in - I am drunk with it. The Guru has given it to me in charity. My mind is drenched with it. ||1||

ਉਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੱਠੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਠੰਢਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਲੇਪਨ, ਉਹੀ ਪਿਆਲਾ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੁਚੀ। ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।

It is my furnace, it is the cooling plaster. It is my love, it is my longing. My mind knows it as peace. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੇਡਦਾ ਮਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਗੇੜਾ ਮੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

I enjoy intuitive peace, and I play in bliss; the cycle of reincarnation is ended for me, and I am merged with the Lord. Nanak is pierced through with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3||4||157||

ਰਾਗ ਗਊੜੀ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Raag Gauree Maalwaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ, ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ, ਤੂੰ ਹੈ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ! ਅਗੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਠਨ ਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਰਾਹੇ ਟੁਰਨਾ ਪਏਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Chant the Lord's Name; O my friend, chant it. Hereafter, the path is terrifying and treacherous. ||1||Pause||

ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ, ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ, ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ, ਮੌਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਖੜੀ ਹੈ।

Serve, serve, forever serve the Lord. Death hangs over your head.

ਤੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਿਦਮਤ ਕਰ! ਓ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Do seva, selfless service, for the Holy Saints, and the noose of Death shall be cut away. ||1||

ਹਵਨ, ਯੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਾਪ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

You may make burnt offerings, sacrificial feasts and pilgrimages to sacred shrines in egotism, but your corruption only increases.

ਆਦਮੀ ਦੋਜ਼ਖ਼ ਤੇ ਬਹਿਸਤ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਜਨਮਦਾ ਹੈ।

You are subject to both heaven and hell, and you are reincarnated over and over again. ||2||

ਸ਼ਿਵਜੀ ਦਾ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਕੋਈ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਭੀ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ!

The realm of Shiva, the realms of Brahma and Indra as well - no place anywhere is permanent.

ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਕੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Without serving the Lord, there is no peace at all. The faithless cynic comes and goes in reincarnation. ||3||

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਕਾ ਦੇ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

As the Guru has taught me, so have I spoken.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰ ਹੈ ਬੰਦੇ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਬੰਦਖਲਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Says Nanak, listen, people: sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and you shall be saved. ||4||1||158||

Raag Gauree Maalaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਓ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

Adopting the innocent mind of a child, I have found peace.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਗ਼ਮੀ, ਵਾਧਾ ਤੇ ਘਾਟਾ, ਜੰਮਣਾ ਤੇ ਮਰਣਾ, ਪੀੜ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Joy and sorrow, profit and loss, birth and death, pain and pleasure - they are all the same to my consciousness, since I met the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਜਦ ਤੋੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਛ ਕਾਢਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੁਗਤਾ ਕਢਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤਦ ਤੋੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਦੇਸਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਿਹਾ।

As long as I plotted and planned things, I was full of frustration.

ਜਦ ਮੈਨੂ ਦਿਆਲੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਦ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।

When I met the Kind, Perfect Guru, then I obtained bliss so easily. ||1||

ਜਿੰਨੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਉਨੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਈਆਂ।

The more clever tricks I tried, the more bonds I was saddled with.

ਜਦ ਸੰਤਾਂ (ਗੁਰਾਂ) ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

When the Holy Saint placed His Hand upon my forehead, then I was liberated. ||2||

ਜਦ ਤਾਈ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਸਾਂ, "ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਹੈ" ਤਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਮੈਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਘੇਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਾਂ।

As long as I claimed, "Mine, mine!", I was surrounded by wickedness and corruption.

ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਜਿਸਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ।

But when I dedicated my mind, body and intellect to my Lord and Master, then I began to sleep in peace. ||3||

ਜਦ ਤੋੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਗਠੜੀ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਚਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤਦ ਤੋੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਡੰਨ ਭਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।

As long as I walked along, carrying the load, I continued to pay the fine.

ਜਦ ਮੈਂ, ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ, ਪੋਟਲੀ ਪਰ ਸੁਟ ਪਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਪੁਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਡਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

But I threw away that bundle, when I met the Perfect Guru; O Nanak, then I became fearless. ||4||1||159||

ਗਊੜੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree Maalaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਖੀ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਛੱਡ ਤੇ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

I have renounced my desires; I have renounced them.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਂਜਲੀ ਤੇ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।

I have renounced them; meeting the Guru, I have renounced them.

ਜੱਗ ਦੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ, ਉਮਾਹ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਪਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

All peace, joy, happiness and pleasures have come since I surrendered to the Will of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
