ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak grasps the feet of those humble beings. ||3||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈ।

The remembrance of God is the highest and most exalted of all.

ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

In the remembrance of God, many are saved.

ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੇਹਿ ਬੁਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

In the remembrance of God, thirst is quenched.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਪਤਾ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

In the remembrance of God, all things are known.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

In the remembrance of God, there is no fear of death.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

In the remembrance of God, hopes are fulfilled.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,

In the remembrance of God, the filth of the mind is removed.

ਤੇ ਸੁਧਾ-ਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਮ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is absorbed into the heart.

ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਜੀਭਾ ਉਤੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

God abides upon the tongues of His Saints.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak is the servant of the slave of His slaves. ||4||

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਧਨਾਡ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are wealthy.

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are honorable.

ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are approved.

ਪਰਮ ਨਾਮਵਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are the most distinguished persons.

ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਬੇਮੁਹਤਾਜ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are not lacking.

ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are the rulers of all.

ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God dwell in peace.

ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਅਮਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God are immortal and eternal.

ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ।

They alone hold to the remembrance of Him, unto whom He Himself shows His Mercy.

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਦੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak begs for the dust of their feet. ||5||

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਦਾਰਚਿੱਤ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God generously help others.

ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God - to them, I am forever a sacrifice.

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God - their faces are beautiful.

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਆਰਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God abide in peace.

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God conquer their souls.

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ ਰੀਤੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Those who remember God have a pure and spotless lifestyle.

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God experience all sorts of joys.

ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who remember God abide near the Lord.

ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

By the Grace of the Saints, one remains awake and aware, night and day.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, this meditative remembrance comes only by perfect destiny. ||6||

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Remembering God, one's works are accomplished.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਝੂਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

Remembering God, one never grieves.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Remembering God, one speaks the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Remembering God, one is absorbed into the state of intuitive ease.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਅਹਿਲ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

Remembering God, one attains the unchanging position.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਕੰਵਲ ਖਿੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Remembering God, the heart-lotus blossoms forth.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ।

Remembering God, the unstruck melody vibrates.

ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਦਬੰਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਓੜਕ ਨਹੀਂ।

The peace of the meditative remembrance of God has no end or limitation.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

They alone remember Him, upon whom God bestows His Grace.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ।

Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of those humble beings. ||7||

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Remembering the Lord, His devotees are famous and radiant.

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੇਦ ਰਚੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Remembering the Lord, the Vedas were composed.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਬi੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Remembering the Lord, we become Siddhas, celibates and givers.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਧਮ ਚੌਹੀ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Remembering the Lord, the lowly become known in all four directions.

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਸਥਾਪਨ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

For the remembrance of the Lord, the whole world was established.

ਯਾਦ ਕਰ, ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਹੇਤੂ ਹੈ।

Remember, remember in meditation the Lord, the Creator, the Cause of causes.

ਆਪਣੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ।

For the remembrance of the Lord, He created the whole creation.

ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਹੁਣ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

In the remembrance of the Lord, He Himself is Formless.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਸਿਖ-ਮੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

By His Grace, He Himself bestows understanding.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the Gurmukh attains the remembrance of the Lord. ||8||1||

ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਅਤੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ, ਹਰ ਇਕਸ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਜਿਸ ਉਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ,

O Destroyer of the pains and the suffering of the poor, O Master of each and every heart, O Masterless One:

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਰਹੋ!

I have come seeking Your Sanctuary. O God, please be with Nanak! ||1||
