ਪਉੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਓ ਹੇ ਜੀਵੋ! ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ।

Serve Him, O mortals, who has the Lord's Name in His lap.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਥੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਏਦੂੰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਏਗਾ।

You shall dwell in peace and ease in this world; in the world hereafter, it shall go with you.

ਸਿਦਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਹਿੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਤੂਨ ਗੱਡ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਅਨਿਨ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਧਾਮ ਬਣਾ।

So build your home of true righteousness, with the unshakable pillars of Dharma.

ਤੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਇੰਜ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਮੰਡਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਦੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦੇਣਗੇ।

Take the Support of the Lord, who gives support in the spiritual and material worlds.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅਗੇ ਲੰਮਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।

Nanak grasps the Lotus Feet of the Lord; he humbly bows in His Court. ||8||

ਸਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੈਰ ਪਾ! ਮੰਗਤਾ ਖੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

The beggar begs for charity: give to me, O my Beloved!

ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਚੇਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

O Great Giver, O Giving Lord, my consciousness is continually centered on You.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਮਾਪ ਮਾਲ-ਗੁਦਾਮ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁਕਦੇ।

The immeasurable warehouses of the Lord can never be emptied out.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਠੀਕ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the Word of the Shabad is infinite; it has arranged everything perfectly. ||1||

ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Fifth Mehl:

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰੋ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੋ। ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

O Sikhs, love the Word of the Shabad; in life and death, it is our only support.

ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਡੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਖੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

Your face shall be radiant, and you shall find a lasting peace, O Nanak, remembering the One Lord in meditation. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਓਥੇ ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

There, the Ambrosial Nectar is distributed; the Lord is the Bringer of peace.

ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ।

They are not placed upon the path of Death, and they shall not have to die again.

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who comes to savor the Lord's Love experiences it.

ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਦੇ ਚਸ਼ਮੇ ਦੇ ਵਗਣ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਨੇਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Holy beings chant the Bani of the Word, like nectar flowing from a spring.

ਨਾਨਕ ਐਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜੀਊਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

Nanak lives by beholding the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those who have implanted the Lord's Name within their minds. ||9||

ਸਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Fifth Mehl:

ਪੂਰਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤਕਲੀਫਾਂ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

Serving the Perfect True Guru, suffering ends.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਕੰਮ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, worshipping the Naam in adoration, one's affairs come to be resolved. ||1||

ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾ ਟਲ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Remembering Him in meditation, misfortune departs, and one comes to abide in peace and bliss.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਤੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਭੁੱਲਾ।

O Nanak, meditate forever on the Lord - do not forget Him, even for an instant. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਿਣਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ?

How can I estimate the glory of those, who have found the Lord, Har, Har?

ਜੋ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੰਧਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who seeks the Sanctuary of the Holy is released from bondage.

ਜੋ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਂਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੜਦਾ।

One who sings the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable Lord does not burn in the womb of reincarnation.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਇਸਥਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who meets the Guru and the Supreme Lord God, who reads and understands, enters the state of Samaadhi.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੇ-ਬਾਹ ਹੈ।

Nanak has obtained that Lord Master, who is inaccessible and unfathomable. ||10||

ਸਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Fifth Mehl:

ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਅਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਅਵੈੜਾ ਹੋ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

People do not perform their duties, but instead, they wander around aimlessly.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?

O Nanak, if they forget the Name, how can they ever find peace? ||1||

ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Fifth Mehl:

ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਕਉੜਾਪਣ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਮੜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

The bitter poison of corruption is everywhere; it clings to the substance of the world.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the humble being has realized that the Name of the Lord alone is sweet. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

This is the distinguishing sign of the Holy Saint, that by meeting with him, one is saved.

ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ।

The Messenger of Death does not come near him; he never has to die again.

ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਜਗਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

He crosses over the terrifying, poisonous world-ocean.

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਬੀ ਹਾਰ ਬੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਧੋਤੀ ਜਾਏਗੀ।

So weave the garland of the Lord's Glorious Praises into your mind, and all your filth shall be washed away.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਪਰਮ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak remains blended with his Beloved, the Supreme Lord God. ||11||

ਸਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, approved is the birth of those, within whose consciousness the Lord abides.

ਵੇਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਗਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ।

Useless talk and babbling is useless, my friend. ||1||

ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Fifth Mehl:

ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੇ, ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

I have come to see the Supreme Lord God, the Perfect, Inaccessible, Wonderful Lord.
