ਜਦ ਕਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
I have not taken the Lord's Name as my Support. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ; ਖੋਜਉ ਅਸਮਾਨ ॥
kahu kabeer; khojau asamaan |
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ (ਆਲਮ) ਢੂੰਡਿਆ ਹੈ,
Says Kabeer, I have searched the skies,
ਰਾਮ ਸਮਾਨ; ਨ ਦੇਖਉ ਆਨ ॥੨॥੩੪॥
raam samaan; na dekhau aan |2|34|
ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
and have not seen another, equal to the Lord. ||2||34||

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਰਿ; ਰਚਿ ਰਚਿ ਬਾਧਤ ਪਾਗ ॥
jih sir; rach rach baadhat paag |
ਕਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੁੰਝ ਸੰਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
That head which was once embellished with the finest turban
ਸੋ ਸਿਰੁ; ਚੁੰਚ ਸਵਾਰਹਿ ਕਾਗ ॥੧॥
so sir; chunch savaareh kaag |1|
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਣਾ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਫਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਧਨ ਕੋ; ਕਿਆ ਗਰਬਈਆ ॥
eis tan dhan ko; kiaa garabeea |
ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੇ ਕੀ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
What pride should we take in this body and wealth?
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ; ਕਾਹੇ ਨ ਦਿ੍ਰੜੑੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਕੜਦਾ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Why not hold tight to the Lord's Name instead? ||1||Pause||
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ; ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
kehat kabeer; sunahu man mere |
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੁਣ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ,
Says Kabeer, listen, O my mind:
ਇਹੀ ਹਵਾਲ; ਹੋਹਿਗੇ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੨॥੩੫॥

ਤੇਰੀ ਭੀ ਏਹੋ ਹੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਂਗਤ; ਦੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਆਵੈ ॥
sukh maangat; dukh aagai aavai |
ਬੰਦਾ ਆਰਾਮ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀੜ ਆ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
People beg for pleasure, but pain comes instead.
ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ; ਹਮਹੁ. ਨ ਮਾਂਗਿਆ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
so sukh; hamahu. na maangiaa bhaavai |1|
ਉਸ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੀ।
I would rather not beg for that pleasure. ||1||
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਅਜਹੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ; ਸੁਖ ਆਸਾ ॥
bikhiaa ajahu surat; sukh aasaa |
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਲ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤਾ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
People are involved in corruption, but still, they hope for pleasure.
ਕੈਸੇ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ; ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kaise hoee hai; raajaa raam nivaasaa |1| rahaau |
ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸੇਬਾ ਪਾਏਗਾ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂ।
How will they find their home in the Sovereign Lord King? ||1||Pause||
ਇਸੁ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ; ਸਿਵ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਡਰਾਨਾ ॥
eis sukh te; siv braham ddaraanaa |
ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਵਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਰਮਾ ਭੀ ਭੈ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Even Shiva and Brahma are afraid of this pleasure,
ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ; ਹਮਹੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
so sukh; hamahu saach kar jaanaa |2|
ਉਸ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
but I have judged that pleasure to be true. ||2||
ਸਨਕਾਦਿਕ ਨਾਰਦ ਮੁਨਿ ਸੇਖਾ ॥
sanakaadik naarad mun sekhaa |
ਸਨਕ ਆਦਿਕ, ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਫਨਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ,
Even sages like Sanak and Naarad, and the thousand-headed serpent,
ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ; ਮਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਪੇਖਾ ॥੩॥
tin bhee tan meh; man nahee pekhaa |3|
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੱਕਿਆ।
did not see the mind within the body. ||3||
ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ; ਕੋਈ ਖੋਜਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
eis man kau; koee khojahu bhaaee |
ਕੋਈ ਏਸ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੇ, ਹੇ ਵੀਰ!
Anyone can search for this mind, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਤਨ ਛੂਟੇ; ਮਨੁ ਕਹਾ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੪॥
tan chhootte; man kahaa samaaee |4|
ਸਰੀਰ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੋ ਆਤਮਾ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ?
When it escapes from the body, where does the mind go? ||4||
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ; ਜੈਦੇਉ ਨਾਮਾਂ ॥
gur parasaadee; jaideo naamaan |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਜੈਦੇਵ ਤੇ ਨਾਮਾ,

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ।
came to know this, through loving devotional worship of the Lord. ||5||
ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ; ਨਹੀ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
eis man kau; nahee aavan jaanaa |
ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
This mind does not come or go.
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ; ਤਿਨਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੬॥
jis kaa bharam geaa; tin saach pachhaanaa |6|
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
One whose doubt is dispelled, knows the Truth. ||6||
ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ; ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਕਾਈ ॥
eis man kau; roop na rekhiaa kaaee |
ਇਸ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਚੱਕਰ-ਚਿਹਨ ਨਹੀਂ।
This mind has no form or outline.
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹੋਇਆ; ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੭॥
hukame hoeaa; hukam boojh samaaee |7|
ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਸਾਜੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗੀ।
By God's Command it was created; understanding God's Command, it will be absorbed into Him again. ||7||
ਇਸ ਮਨ ਕਾ; ਕੋਈ ਜਾਨੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
eis man kaa; koee jaanai bheo |
ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ?
Does anyone know the secret of this mind?
ਇਹ ਮਨਿ; ਲੀਣ ਭਏ ਸੁਖਦੇਉ ॥੮॥
eih man; leen bhe sukhadeo |8|
ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ, ਆਖਰਕਾਰ, ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਮਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
This mind shall merge into the Lord, the Giver of peace and pleasure. ||8||
ਜੀਉ ਏਕੁ; ਅਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥
jeeo ek; ar sagal sareeraa |
ਆਤਮਾ ਇਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਮੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
There is One Soul, and it pervades all bodies.
ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ; ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੯॥੧॥੩੬॥
eis man kau; rav rahe kabeeraa |9|1|36|
ਇਸ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Kabeer dwells upon this Mind. ||9||1||36||

Gauree Gwaarayree:
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ; ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਜੋ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
ahinis; ek naam jo jaage |
ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਸਨ,
Those who are awake to the One Name, day and night
ਕੇਤਕ ਸਿਧ ਭਏ; ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ketak sidh bhe; liv laage |1| rahaau |
ਉਹ ਕਈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
- many of them have become Siddhas - perfect spiritual beings - with their consciousness attuned to the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਕ ਸਿਧ; ਸਗਲ ਮੁਨਿ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
saadhak sidh; sagal mun haare |
ਅਭਿਆਸੀ, ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
The seekers, the Siddhas and the silent sages have all lost the game.
ਏਕ ਨਾਮ; ਕਲਿਪ ਤਰ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
ek naam; kalip tar taare |1|
ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The One Name is the wish-fulfilling Elysian Tree, which saves them and carries them across. ||1||
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ; ਸੁ ਹੋਹਿ ਨ. ਆਨਾ ॥
jo har hare; su hohi na. aanaa |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਰਸਬਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੋਰਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦੇ।
Those who are rejuvenated by the Lord, do not belong to any other.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ; ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੩੭॥
keh kabeer; raam naam pachhaanaa |2|37|
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਆਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
Says Kabeer, they realize the Name of the Lord. ||2||37||
ਗਉੜੀ ਭੀ ਸੋਰਠਿ ਭੀ ॥
gaurree bhee soratth bhee |
ਗਉੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਰਠ ਦੋਵੇਂ।

ਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਨਿਲਜ; ਲਾਜ ਤੁੋਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
re jeea nilaj; laaj tuohi naahee |
ਹੇ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮ ਬੰਦੇ! ਕੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ?
O shameless being, don't you feel ashamed?
ਹਰਿ ਤਜਿ; ਕਤ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har taj; kat kaahoo ke jaanhee |1| rahaau |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਹਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
You have forsaken the Lord - now where will you go? Unto whom will you turn? ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ; ਊਚਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
jaa ko tthaakur; aoochaa hoee |
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ,
One whose Lord and Master is the highest and most exalted
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ; ਪਰ ਘਰ ਜਾਤ. ਨ ਸੋਹੀ ॥੧॥
so jan; par ghar jaat. na sohee |1|
ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ।
- it is not proper for him to go to the house of another. ||1||
ਸੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ; ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
so saahib; rahiaa bharapoor |
ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
That Lord and Master is pervading everywhere.
ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ; ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
sadaa sang; naahee har door |2|
ਹਰੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
The Lord is always with us; He is never far away. ||2||
ਕਵਲਾ; ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ॥
kavalaa; charan saran hai jaa ke |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
Even Maya takes to the Sanctuary of His Lotus Feet.
ਕਹੁ ਜਨ; ਕਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਰ ਤਾ ਕੇ ॥੩॥
kahu jan; kaa naahee ghar taa ke |3|
ਦੱਸੋ ਖਾਂ ਓ ਬੰਦਿਓ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ?
Tell me, what is there which is not in His home? ||3||
ਸਭੁ ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ; ਜਾਸੁ ਕੀ ਬਾਤਾ ॥
sabh koaoo kahai; jaas kee baataa |
ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Everyone speaks of Him; He is All-powerful.
ਸੋ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥੁ; ਨਿਜ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਾ ॥੪॥
so samrath; nij pat hai daataa |4|
ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ।
He is His Own Master; He is the Giver. ||4||
ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ; ਪੂਰਨ ਜਗ ਸੋਈ ॥
kahai kabeer; pooran jag soee |
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੈ,
Says Kabeer, he alone is perfect in this world,
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ; ਅਵਰੁ. ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੩੮॥
jaa ke hiradai; avar. na hoee |5|38|
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਦਾ।
in whose heart there is none other than the Lord. ||5||38||
