ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ; ਇਕੋ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ॥

ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਦਰਜਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।
To obtain the state of life of Nirvaanaa, meditate in remembrance on the One Lord.
ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ; ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਧੀਰੀਐ ॥
doojee naahee jaae; kin bidh dheereeai |
ਦੂਸਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹੋਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
There is no other place; how else can we be comforted?
ਡਿਠਾ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ; ਸੁਖੁ ਨ. ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਹਾਨ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬਗੈਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ।
I have seen the whole world - without the Lord's Name, there is no peace at all.
ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਸੀ ਛਾਰੁ; ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ਜਨੁ ॥

ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਜਣਾ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
Body and wealth shall return to dust - hardly anyone realizes this.
ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਰਸ ਬਾਦਿ; ਕਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਣੀਆ ॥

ਮੌਜ ਬਹਾਰ, ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਬੇਅਰਥ ਹਨ। ਤੂੰ ਕਾਹਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਫ਼ਾਨੀ ਬੰਦਿਆ?
Pleasure, beauty and delicious tastes are useless; what are you doing, O mortal?
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਆਪਿ; ਤਿਸੁ. ਕਲ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥
jis bhulaae aap; tis. kal nahee jaaneea |
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ।
One whom the Lord Himself misleads, does not understand His awesome power.
ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ; ਸਚਾ ਗਾਵਹੀ ॥

ਜੋ ਪੱਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who are imbued with the Love of the Lord attain Nirvaanaa, singing the Praises of the True One.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਰਣਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ; ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹੀ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ।
Nanak: those who are pleasing to Your Will, O Lord, seek Sanctuary at Your Door. ||2||

Pauree:
ਜੰਮਣੁ ਮਰਣੁ. ਨ ਤਿਨੑ ਕਉ; ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
Those who are attached to the hem of the Lord's robe, do not suffer birth and death.
ਜੀਵਤ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੋਏ; ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
jeevat se paravaan hoe; har keeratan jaage |
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਜੱਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜੀਊਦੇ ਜੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who remain awake to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises - their lives are approved.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਜਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ; ਸੇਈ ਵਡਭਾਗੇ ॥
saadhasang jin paaeaa; seee vaddabhaage |
ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Those who attain the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, are very fortunate.
ਨਾਇ ਵਿਸਰਿਐ ਧਿ੍ਰਗੁ ਜੀਵਣਾ; ਤੂਟੇ ਕਚ ਧਾਗੇ ॥
naae visariai dhrig jeevanaa; tootte kach dhaage |
ਲਾਨ੍ਹਤ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕਚੇ ਧਾਗੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟੁਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
But those who forget the Name - their lives are cursed, and broken like thin strands of thread.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਧੂੜਿ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸਾਧ; ਲਖ ਕੋਟਿ ਪਿਰਾਗੇ ॥੧੬॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਾਗ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the dust of the feet of the Holy is more sacred than hundreds of thousands, even millions of cleansing baths at sacred shrines. ||16||

ਧਰਣਿ ਸੁਵੰਨੀ, ਖੜ ਰਤਨ ਜੜਾਵੀ; ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪੁਰਖੁ, ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ॥
dharan suvanee, kharr ratan jarraavee; har prem purakh, man vutthaa |
ਜਿਸ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਘਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੀਰਿਆਂ ਜੜਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ।
Like the beautiful earth, adorned with jewels of grass - such is the mind, within which the Love of the Lord abides.
ਸਭੇ ਕਾਜ ਸੁਹੇਲੜੇ ਥੀਏ; ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ॥੧॥
sabhe kaaj suhelarre thee; gur naanak satigur tutthaa |1|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਦ ਵਡੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
All one's affairs are easily resolved, O Nanak, when the Guru, the True Guru, is pleased. ||1||

ਫਿਰਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਾ; ਜਲ ਪਰਬਤ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥

ਗਿੱਧ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ, ਪਹਾੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਸੀ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਭੌਦੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਹੈ,
Roaming and wandering in the ten directions, over water, mountains and forests
ਜਿਥੈ ਡਿਠਾ ਮਿਰਤਕੋ; ਇਲ ਬਹਿਠੀ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
jithai dditthaa miratako; il bahitthee aae |2|
ਪਰ ਉਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਇਹ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਰਦਾਰ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
- wherever the vulture sees a dead body, he flies down and lands. ||2||

Pauree:
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਫਲ ਲੋੜੀਅਹਿ; ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਉ ॥
jis sarab sukhaa fal lorreeeh; so sach kamaavau |
ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਤਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰੇ।
One who longs for all comforts and rewards should practice Truth.
ਨੇੜੈ ਦੇਖਉ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ; ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
nerrai dekhau paarabraham; ik naam dhiaavau |
ਤੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਕਟ ਹੀ ਵੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।
Behold the Supreme Lord God near you, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the One Lord.
ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ; ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ॥
hoe sagal kee renukaa; har sang samaavau |
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋ ਜਾ।
Become the dust of all men's feet, and so merge with the Lord.
ਦੂਖੁ. ਨ ਦੇਈ ਕਿਸੈ ਜੀਅ; ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਵਉ ॥
dookh. na deee kisai jeea; pat siau ghar jaavau |
ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਧਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ।
Do not cause any being to suffer, and you shall go to your true home with honor.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ. ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ; ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਾਵਉ ॥੧੭॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nanak speaks of the Purifier of sinners, the Creator, the Primal Being. ||17||

ਏਕੁ ਜਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੈ ਕੀਆ; ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
ek ji saajan mai keea; sarab kalaa samarath |
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੋਸਤ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਕਰਨ-ਯੋਗ ਹੈ।
I have made the One Lord my Friend; He is All-powerful to do everything.
ਜੀਉ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਖੰਨੀਐ; ਹਰਿ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਸੰਦੜੀ ਵਥੁ ॥੧॥
jeeo hamaaraa khaneeai; har man tan sandarree vath |1|
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੋਲਤ ਹੈ।
My soul is a sacrifice to Him; the Lord is the treasure of my mind and body. ||1||

ਜੇ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੜੇ; ਤੁਧੁ. ਨ ਛੋਡਾ ਮੂਲਿ ॥
je kar gaheh piaararre; tudh. na chhoddaa mool |
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਥ ਪਕੜ ਲਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਨਾਂ ਤਿਆਗਾਗਾਂ।
Take my hand, O my Beloved; I shall never forsake You.
ਹਰਿ ਛੋਡਨਿ. ਸੇ ਦੁਰਜਨਾ; ਪੜਹਿ ਦੋਜਕ ਕੈ ਸੂਲਿ ॥੨॥
har chhoddan. se durajanaa; parreh dojak kai sool |2|
ਮੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਨਰਕ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who forsake the Lord, are the most evil people; they shall fall into the horrible pit of hell. ||2||

ਸਭਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸ ਦੈ; ਹਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
sabh nidhaan ghar jis dai; har kare su hovai |
ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਧਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
All treasures are in His Home; whatever the Lord does, comes to pass.
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ; ਪਾਪਾ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਵੈ ॥
jap jap jeeveh sant jan; paapaa mal dhovai |
ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਜ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਧੋ ਸੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Saints live by chanting and meditating on the Lord, washing off the filth of their sins.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਹਿ; ਸੰਕਟ ਸਭਿ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
charan kamal hiradai vaseh; sankatt sabh khovai |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕੰਵਲ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਟਲ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
With the Lotus Feet of the Lord dwelling within the heart, all misfortune is taken away.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੀਐ; ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਰੋਵੈ ॥
gur pooraa jis bhetteeai; mar janam na rovai |
ਜੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
One who meets the Perfect Guru, shall not have to suffer through birth and death.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਣੀ; ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਵੈ ॥੧੮॥
prabh daras piaas naanak ghanee; kirapaa kar devai |18|
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਤੇਹ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
Nanak is thirsty for the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan; by His Grace, He has bestowed it. ||18||

ਭੋਰੀ ਭਰਮੁ ਵਞਾਇ ਪਿਰੀ; ਮੁਹਬਤਿ ਹਿਕੁ ਤੂ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਭੋਰਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਗਵਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੇ,
If you can dispel your doubts, even for an instant, and love your only Beloved,
ਜਿਥਹੁ. ਵੰਞੈ ਜਾਇ; ਤਿਥਾਊ. ਮਉਜੂਦੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
jithahu. vanyai jaae; tithaaoo. maujood soe |1|
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਉਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ।
then wherever you go, there you shall find Him. ||1||

charr kai ghorrarrai, kunde pakarreh; khoonddee dee kheddaaree |
ਕੀ ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਜੋ ਕੇਵਲ ਖਿੱਦੋ-ਖੂੰਡੀ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ?
Can they mount horses and handle guns, if all they know is the game of polo?
ਹੰਸਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਉਲਾਸਹਿ; ਕੁਕੜ ਦੀ ਓਡਾਰੀ ॥੨॥

ਹੰਸਾ ਕੀ ਮੁਰਗੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਉਡਾਰੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਹੰਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ-ਚਾਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
Can they be swans, and fulfill their conscious desires, if they can only fly like chickens? ||2||

ਰਸਨਾ ਉਚਰੈ. ਹਰਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਸੁਣੈ; ਸੋ ਉਧਰੈ ਮਿਤਾ ॥
rasanaa ucharai. har sravanee sunai; so udharai mitaa |
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ!
Those who chant the Lord's Name with their tongues and hear it with their ears are saved, O my friend.
ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲਿਖਹਿ. ਲਾਇ ਭਾਵਨੀ; ਸੇ ਹਸਤ ਪਵਿਤਾ ॥
har jas likheh. laae bhaavanee; se hasat pavitaa |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੱਥ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ।
Those hands which lovingly write the Praises of the Lord are pure.
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਮਜਨਾ; ਸਭਿ ਪੁੰਨ ਤਿਨਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥
atthasatth teerath majanaa; sabh pun tin kitaa |
ਐਸਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਧਰਮ-ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪਾ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
It is like performing all sorts of virtuous deeds, and bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੇ ਉਧਰੇ; ਬਿਖਿਆ ਗੜੁ ਜਿਤਾ ॥
sansaar saagar te udhare; bikhiaa garr jitaa |
ਉਹ ਜਗਤ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
They cross over the world-ocean, and conquer the fortress of corruption.
