ਰਾਗੁ ਗਊੜੀ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Raag Gauree Poorbee, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਾਂ ਭੁੱਲ।

Never forget the Lord, Har, Har, from your mind.

ਇਥੇ ਅਤੇ ਓਥੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਪੋਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Here and hereafter, He is the Giver of all peace. He is the Cherisher of all hearts. ||1||Pause||

ਭਾਰੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਜਿਹਭਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੇ।

He removes the most terrible pains in an instant, if the tongue repeats His Name.

ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੀਤਲਤਾ, ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਚਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

In the Lord's Sanctuary there is soothing coolness, peace and tranquility. He has extinguished the burning fire. ||1||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਨਰਕੀ ਟੋਏ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਣੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He saves us from the hellish pit of the womb, and carries us across the terrifying world-ocean.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਚਰਣਾ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Adoring His Lotus Feet in the mind, the fear of death is banished. ||2||

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ, ਉਨੱਤ, ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਅਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ।

He is the Perfect, Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, lofty, unfathomable and infinite.

ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਪਰਸੰਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੂਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

Singing His Glorious Praises, and meditating on the Ocean of peace, one's life is not lost in the gamble. ||3||

ਹੇ ਗੁਣ-ਵਿਹੁਣ ਦੇ ਉਦਾਰ-ਚਿੱਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਭੋਗ-ਬਿਲਾਸ, ਗੁੱਸੇ, ਲਾਲਚ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਖਚਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

My mind is engrossed in sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, O Giver to the unworthy.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇ। ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Please grant Your Grace, and bless me with Your Name; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||4||1||138||

ਰਾਗ ਗਊੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Raag Gauree Chaytee, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਬਗੈਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੇ।

There is no peace without devotional worship of the Lord.

ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਇਹੁ ਅਣਮੁੱਲਾ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Be victorious, and win the priceless jewel of this human life, by meditating on Him in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, even for an instant. ||1||Pause||

ਪੁਤ੍ਰਾਂ, ਦੌਲਤ, ਪਤਨੀ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ

Many have renounced and left their children,

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Wealth, spouses, joyful games and pleasures. ||1||

ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਠਾਠ ਬਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ,

Horses, elephants and the pleasures of power

ਤਲਾਂਜਲੀ ਦਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੰਗ-ਧੜੰਗਾ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

- leaving these behind, the fool must depart naked. ||2||

ਦੇਹਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਗਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਨਣ ਦੇ ਅਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਫੁਲੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਸੀ,

The body, scented with musk and sandalwood

ਉਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੁਲ ਜਾਏਗੀ।

- that body shall come to roll in the dust. ||3||

ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਮਤਹੀਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।

Infatuated with emotional attachment, they think that God is far away.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, he is Ever-present! ||4||1||139||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੈ ਬੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

O mind, cross over with the Support of the Lord's Name.

ਵਹਿਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਗਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰਨ ਲਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

The Guru is the boat to carry you across the world-ocean, through the waves of cynicism and doubt. ||1||Pause||

ਕਲਜੁਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਘੁੱਪ ਹੈ।

In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, there is only pitch darkness.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The lamp of the Guru's spiritual wisdom illuminates and enlightens. ||1||

ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਫੈਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

The poison of corruption is spread out far and wide.

ਨੇਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Only the virtuous are saved, chanting and meditating on the Lord. ||2||

ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦਾ ਨਸ਼ਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।

Intoxicated with Maya, the people are asleep.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੁਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Meeting the Guru, doubt and fear are dispelled. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, meditate on the One Lord;

ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

behold Him in each and every heart. ||4||2||140||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਹੈ।

You alone are my Chief Advisor.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

I serve You with the Support of the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਿਆ।

By various devices, I could not find You.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਲਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

Taking hold of me, the Guru has made me Your slave. ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਾਤਮਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

I have conquered the five tyrants.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਬਦੀ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, I have vanquished the army of evil. ||2||

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੈਰਾਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

I have received the One Name as His bounty and blessing.

ਆਰਾਮ, ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਣ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੈ।

Now, I dwell in peace, poise and bliss. ||3||
