ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਵੀਰ!

One who has the Lord as his Master, O Siblings of Destiny

ਬਿਅੰਤ ਮੁਕਤੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਕਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

- countless liberations knock at his door. ||1||

ਦੱਸੋ! ਹੁਣ ਜਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਯਕੀਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ!

If I say now that my trust is in You alone, Lord,

ਤਦ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ ਹੈ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

then what obligation do I have to anyone else? ||1||Pause||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੋ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਹਾਨ ਦਾ ਬੋਝ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,

He bears the burden of the three worlds;

ਮੇਰੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ?

why should He not cherish you also? ||2||

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਗਿਆਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,

Says Kabeer, through contemplation, I have obtained this one understanding.

ਜੇਕਰ ਮਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ?

If the mother poisons her own child, what can anyone do? ||3||22||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਪਤਨੀ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?

Without Truth, how can the woman be a true satee - a widow who burns herself on her husband's funeral pyre?

ਹੇ ਪੰਡਤ ਵੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ।

O Pandit, O religious scholar, see this and contemplate it within your heart. ||1||

ਜੇ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਧ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?

Without love, how can one's affection increase?

ਜਦ ਤਾਂਈ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਤਾਂਈ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

As long as there is attachment to pleasure, there can be no spiritual love. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ,

One who, in his own soul, believes the Queen Maya to be true,

ਉਹ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।

does not meet the Lord, even in dreams. ||2||

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹਿ, ਆਤਮਾ, ਦੌਲਤ ਘਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,

One who surrenders her body, mind, wealth, home and self

ਕਬੀਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

- she is the true soul-bride, says Kabeer. ||3||23||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਨਾਸਕ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਲਤਾਨ ਹੈ।

The whole world is engrossed in corruption.

ਪਾਪਾ ਨੇ ਟੱਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਡੋਬ ਛੱਡੇ ਹਨ।

This corruption has drowned entire families. ||1||

ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਕ ਕਰ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ?

O man, why have you wrecked your boat and sunk it?

ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੋੜ ਵਿਛੋੜੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੰਢ ਜੋੜ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

You have broken with the Lord, and joined hands with corruption. ||1||Pause||

ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

Angels and human beings alike are burning in the raging fire.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਮੰਦ ਵੇਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਹਟਾ ਕੇ, ਡੰਗਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

The water is near at hand, but the beast does not drink it in. ||2||

ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਿਕਲ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

By constant contemplation and awareness, the water is brought forth.

ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ, ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

That water is immaculate and pure, says Kabeer. ||3||24||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਉਸ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਬੋਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,

That family, whose son has no spiritual wisdom or contemplation

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਰੰਡੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾਂ ਹੋ ਗਈ।

- why didn't his mother just become a widow? ||1||

ਐਸੇ ਗੁਨਾਹਗਾਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਮਾਈ,

That man who has not practiced devotional worship of the Lord

ਉਹ ਗੁਨਾਗਾਰ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾਂ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

- why didn't such a sinful man die at birth? ||1||Pause||

ਹਮਲ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਗਿਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ?

So many pregnancies end in miscarriage - why was this one spared?

ਡਰਾਉਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

He lives his life in this world like a deformed amputee. ||2||

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨੇ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਨਕਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਨ,

Says Kabeer, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord,

ਉਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਕੋਝੇ ਤੇ ਕੁੱਬੇ ਹਨ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ।

Beautiful and handsome people are just ugly hunch-backs. ||3||25||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,

I am forever a sacrifice to those humble beings

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Who take the Name of their Lord and Master. ||1||

ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੇ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

Those who sing the Glorious Praises of the Pure Lord are pure.

ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੀਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

They are my Siblings of Destiny, so dear to my heart. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ,

I am the dust of the lotus feet of those

ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਚਰਨਾ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਹਾਂ।

Whose hearts are filled with the All-pervading Lord. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਜਾਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਪੜੇ ਉਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਧੀਰਜਵਾਨ ਹਾਂ।

I am a weaver by birth, and patient of mind.

ਕਬੀਰ ਧੀਰੇ ਧੀਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Slowly, steadily, Kabeer chants the Glories of God. ||3||26||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਦਸਮ ਦੁਆਰ ਪਰਮ ਅਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਘਰ-ਮੇਰੀ ਭੱਠੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਟਪਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

From the Sky of the Tenth Gate, the nectar trickles down, distilled from my furnace.

ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਲਣ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪਰਮ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

I have gathered in this most sublime essence, making my body into firewood. ||1||

ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

He alone is called intoxicated with intuitive peace and poise,

ਜੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਤ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

who drinks in the juice of the Lord's essence, contemplating spiritual wisdom. ||1||Pause||

ਹੁਣ ਜਦ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਕਲਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,

Intuitive poise is the bar-maid who comes to serve it.

ਮੇਰੇ ਰੈਣ ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਸਤ ਬੀਤ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

I pass my nights and days in ecstasy. ||2||

ਜਦ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ,

Through conscious meditation, I linked my consciousness with the Immaculate Lord.

ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਡੱਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Says Kabeer, then I obtained the Fearless Lord. ||3||27||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ।

Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ਮਨੂਏ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਸਲਤ ਹੈ, ਮਨੂਏ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਪੈਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ।

The natural tendency of the mind is to chase the mind.
